nightmares :(

Lemme give a little background to this. Tony and Steve are Peter's dads (cus I'm always a sucker for superfamily) but they aren't his biological parents...lets say they adopt him a little after spiderman homecoming—civil war never happened and May is dead (sorry :D)

Harley and Peter have fallen into habit of sharing a bed—much to Steve and Tony's dismay. The superdads had tried their best to keep the boyfriends separated, but they've learned to trust the boys (and Tony may have added a few extra protocols to FRIDAY to ensure that no adult business goes down). But with Peter's cuddle addiction and Harley's protective nature, the boys just couldn't stand to be apart during the night.
Unfortunately, sharing a bed with Peter had really shown Harley the dark side of being a superhero. Sometimes he hears Peter come in late at night, muffling his sobs to try and not wake Harley. Sometimes these cries are caused by injury, other times is caused by a mission gone wrong or some bad memories resurfacing.
Harley's also been there to witness the restless nights, feeling Peter toss and turn, unable to fall asleep when his mind is running wild and his limbs shake with energy. Some nights it's because he's starving and his metabolism just doesn't want to give him a break. Harley always tries his best to soothe the spider-teen. He'll stay up and talk with him, grab him a snack, give him some extra tight cuddles—anything he can to help him get the sleep he so desperately needs.
Then there's the nightmares. The heavy breathing, the choked sobs, the guttural screams—Harley's seen all of it. They're not even always superhero related, which makes the blond boy's heart hurt. His baby has been through so much, with or without Spider-Man. Some nights Peter will wake up, calling for his mom and dad. Others it's Uncle Ben or even Aunt May. Sometimes it's not even a memory based nightmare- and he's calling out to try and save Tony and Steve. Then of course, there's the Spider-Man nightmares. These are always the worst. He'll wake up, thinking he's still in danger, thinking he's dying—or worse. Peter told Harley that he always feels like he's trapped on those nights, that he's stuck in this loop of a memory where he's alone and scared.
It's nights like tonight that make Harley's heart hurt for the boy that's too good for this world.
        Peter wakes up screaming.

The guttural scream has the super teen sitting straight up, choking on his breath as he sweats through his pajamas.
Harley's sitting up soon after, looking towards his boyfriend who's clearly still out of it.
"Peter." Peter's head snaps towards the sound of the voice, choking on sobs and clawing on his chest. "There you are, baby." Harley keeps his Tony gentle, knowing how fragile his boyfriend can be in moments like this. "Is it okay if I touch you?" He asks, not wanting to cross any boundaries.
"H-Harls?" The distraught teen asks, pulling his knees to his chest and breathing far too fast for Harley's liking .
"Yeah, darlin'. It's me." The southern teen confirms. "Is it okay if I touch you, Petey?" He tries again. Peter nods desperately this time, letting Harley know that it's going to be a clingy night. "Alright, there we go." He coos, lifting Peter up and bringing him to sit on his lap so they're chest to chest. Peter immediately wraps around him like a koala. His head rests on Harley's shoulder, his arms wrap around the other boy's neck and his legs around his back.
On nights like this, this is exactly what he needs.
"It's okay." Harley coos, as Peter lets his sobs break loose. "I need to you take some nice big breaths for me." Harley instructs, taking exaggerated breaths so Peter can match the movement of his chest. "In...and out." He coaches. Peter tries his best to follow along, the occasional sob breaking his pattern.
Harley is patient while Peter calms himself down, knowing how scary nightmares can be—especially when they're memory based.
It takes a while for Peter's breath to fully even out, if Harley had to guess he'd say it's been a good half hour. He never stops with the praise, or comforting touch, he's patient and lets Peter take things at his pace. Once he feels Peter's body go lax against his own, he knows the panic is over.
"I've got you." Harley whispers before pressing a loving kiss to the side of Peter's head. "If you want to talk I'm here." He says gently, rocking Peter in his lap to further soothe him. "If not...that's okay too."
"I had this babysitter." Peter started, Harley could hear the tears in his voice. "His name was Skip." The first few tears escape Peter's eyes. "He would-he was really mean to me."
Now this was new. Peter had never mentioned this Skip character before. Harley knows not to pry, but it's apparent that whatever Skip did, really hurt Peter.
"I'm sorry." Harley consoles. "A babysitter should be someone you trust, I'm sorry he took advantage of that." And that statement just makes Peter hold on to him tighter and let out a few more tears.
"I never told May or Ben about what he did." Peter whimpers. "So they kept inviting him back." Harley feels like there's more to this story, but again, he knows not to pry.
"He can't hurt you any more." Harley assures. "We would never let him."
Peter eventually fell asleep in Harley's lap, Harley still looking down at the younger boy with concern.

He's have to ask Steve and Tony if they knew anything about this Skip guy...

Oooooooo cliff hanger. Kind of at least. I think we all know who Skip is at this point but...
I'll apologize in advance.
Anyways...
Sorry this was kind of short, I was just kind of ready to post something :)
Hope you're all doing well!
