In a time of old when cars had just been invented, lived an old man in a big house. This old man had lived quite the life, he had seen the age of invention come and go. The old man had quite the family as well, he had 3 daughters and 2 sons. As the old man got closer to his end he worried about his will. You see, this old man was smart, he had kept tabs on all of his children and knew of all the things they had done, both good and bad, nice and cruel. The old man's children were not as honorable as he had hoped they would be, they had swindled and lied, gambled and lost, but one of them had learned. The old man had a plan, he wanted to see how his children would react to a certain situation.

"Sir, your first daughter has arrived", "thank you for alerting me, melisa" You see, the old man had a young maid to help him around the house, truth be told the old man saw her as the daughter he never had. "Melisa dear, could you prepare the study for our guests please","Of course sir, shall I make some tea and biscuits as well?", "ah that would be nice, and after please join us" melisa bowed and went to do as he asked. Outside the house a carriage pulled up and two men stepped out, they were the old man's sons. "I say brother it's quite nice to be home", "I too feel the same older brother" the two looked up to see the studys window lit by lamplight. "Well i do believe our father is expecting us in the study, shall we","we shall"

In the foyer the old man's first daughter was waiting, she was a tad bit annoyed, no one had come to greet her you see. "Oh well look who has finally arrived", "well hello to you too first sister" the brothers greeted their sister with the same amount of mallis. A few minutes later and the third sister arrived, she was the princess of the group, spoiled since birth by her mother."Hello sister, brothers, how are you?" she greeted with an air of false niceties. "Oh don't put on that act with us, it wont work" the first sister snapped. "Well it's not like you were planning to play nice, be grateful i haven't squashed you yet" the third sister snarked right back. At that moment the doors flew open and the second sister rushed in carrying a bundle that appeared to be crying. While the first 4 siblings were getting reacquainted it had begun to rain, and the second sister had been caught in it.

"Well well well if it isn't the second sister and her bundle of joy" remarked the third sister sarcastically. "Shh shh my sweet sparkling, your ok" the second sister cooed to her baby. "You really should give that thing away, it's just a hindrance" the first sister remarked." how could you say such a thing, without my dear Azarath i don't think i could live" cried the second sister as she clutched her son to her chest. "What is all this commotion?" called the old man from the top of the stairs, he had his angry face present, but in truth he was actually quite disappointed, not angry. "Its time, come we will discuss why you are here in the study" the old man said sternly "We thought so" muttered the two sons.

Once in the study, Melisa walked in with a tray of tea and biscuits, she set them on the coffee table and retreated into the corner. The old man sat in his chair behind his desk while the children gathered round. "Father why is your stamp collection out, you never have it out unless there is a party going on" asked the third sister fainting innocence. "I was going over them when I noticed one of my most prized stamps missing, I had it before the summer but now it is gone" "well that's not good, you loved the dragon stamp" said the second sister, her voice full of truthful sadness. "It was taken around the time you five left after the spring solstice" the man said. "Why wait till now to confront us if you think we took it" the first son said accusingly." because i wanted to see if you would return it" the man said with a scowl "but it appears my own children are too greedy to do so" he thundered. "Father please calm yourself, you could hurt your poor heart" the second sister called worryingly while rocking her son back and forth. "WHO DID IT" yelled the old man, this startled the children and woke the baby. The old man had not yelled at his children befo, not even when they broke their mother's favorite vase playing catch.

"It was first brother" cried the third sister. "WHAT, it was probably you you selfish cow" retorted the second brother. "Of course you would defend him, you're his twin" replied the first sister. "Please siblings, let's not point fingers, think logicly" all the siblings rounded on the second sister. "Don't speak to us of logic while you hold that thing in your arms" yelled the first sister, the others agreeing with her. While the second sister crumbled into a chair crying and holding her child close the others had resumed the throwing of accusations and insults. "Come here my second daughter, come melisa" the old man called softly to his child and maid. " What they said to you was not true my dear, you son is perfect and belongs no matter how he came to be" he consoled his daughter, turning to the maid "bring a glass of hot chocolate please, i feel my child may need it" the maid bowed and scuttled off. "Do you want to hear something funny my dear" the old man asked the woman in his arms. "Yes papa" came the reply. "No stamp was stolen, I just hid it, it was all a test and your siblings failed," chuckled the old man. "I'm sorry to have hurt you" "its ok papa i understand" the old man let go of his child and stood up. "QUIET" he yelled for the second time that day. The bunkering children stopped and turned to their father. "You have all failed" the old man was cut off by a corises of exclamations. "Hush, not only did you bicker and point fingers but you also insulted your sister and made her cry" the man said sternly" this was a test to see if you are worthy and so far none but the second sister have passed" "a test for what" asked the third sister. "For my wealth, estate and belongings'' he stated plainly." now all of you out but second daughter, you will get nothing from me" he stated and the stunned siblings were pushed out by a maid who had just returned with a hot cocoa for her new mistress. "Well then melisa it has been done" "indeed sir it has" "oh none of that now, you are like a daughter to me" the second sister who had been watching this interaction smiled behind her cup, she knew she had just gained a friend for life, in the form of her father's maid. "Will you stay with me melisa when papa is gone" she asked " for you mistress i will stay for forever"
