AN - Alright, I know I've said that this book only consists of two sentences stories but I just HAVE to tell you this story. It's a story based on a Thai movie but my dad told me the summary of it.

...

There was once a man and his pregnant wife living in a house far away from the village. One day, he had to go to war but because he loved his wife so much he promised to come back and take care of her and their new child.
It has been a year since the war ended and the man returned home. He was pleased to see his happy family again. "I can't live without you." His wife would say and he would say the same because he'd missed and loved her so much.
Right now, you're probably thinking that everything went back to normal...
Once a month, the man would often visit the village. It's the first time he'd visited since the war. Everyone greeted and welcomed him back with smiling faces.
"How are things?" People would ask him.
"Things have been great. I have a lovely wife and child at home." He would reply. But whenever he'd say that, people gave him a worry, yet, terrified look.
An old man approached him and told him the surprising news when he'd overheard what the man told the villagers.
"You didn't hear," said the old man. "Your wife passed away during child birth. Your baby died, too. I am so sorry."
Not believing this, the man's hands started to shake from fear. "What? Then who is in my house? Who has been sleeping beside me every night? Who cooks for me food?"
The old man calmed him down and told him that when he gets home, he should bow down and look under him from his legs.
When the man got home, his wife greeted him with a smile. She asked if he was hungry before she proceeded to cook. The man pretended as if everything was alright. He stood outside the house and took a deep breath before he did what the old man told him to do.
As he bent down, he couldn't believe what he was seeing. His house. His thought to be cleaned and happy looking house turned out to be, in reality, an abandoned; broken and dark house. Nothing seemed to be living. The trees and plantation was dead. The house had holes through the wood. The sky became dark. Nobody has lived here in a year. But suddenly, he saw his wife. His dead wife. She was cooking. On the roof. The wooden spoon she was stirring with fell. It fell through the house until it reached the ground in front of him. He couldn't believe that his wife's hand stretched all the way in front of him from the roof just to get the spoon.
She wasn't human. He had to run.
He ran and ran but whenever he turned his head, she would appear.
"I can't live without you." She would say. She would repeat and repeat until he couldn't hear his own screams anymore.

...

And the story in just two sentences is below!

After the war that lasted for a year, the man was pleased to see his wife, who greeted him with love and food, and his newborn child, who he has never got to see, again. One day, as he was telling the villagers about how happy he was to be reunited back with his family, everyone was shocked since both the wife and the child died during childbirth.
