I clipped on my last pearl earring that was matching my pearl necklace, my legs carried me back allowing me to fully take in my appearance. My dress was silk in a very light white with shiny gold straps, it was short and barely touched my knees. My red hair was lightly curled with half of it wrapped in a silk white bow, my lips were painted in a dark red.

I picked up my everyday perfume and completely soaked myself in it, I blinked at the very image of myself. It was weird how alive I looked on the outside but inside, I was practically dead with no sort of emotions.

My eyes focused on the person behind me, Bodhi was sitting at the edge of our bed dressed in a black tux. He hasn't been the same either, we haven't. We hardly talk to each other, he doesn't even look me in the eye anymore and when it's nighttime he sleeps somewhere else with god knows who, I don't ask. A part of me wonders whether he knows it wasn't his child, or he blames me for losing his child.

"I'll meet you downstairs." He said quietly while placing his empty glass that a few seconds ago held whiskey on the nightstand, he left before I could respond.

I looked at myself one last time in the mirror, my mouth forced a smile that almost looked realistic. I just have to remember to smile like this, like I'm happy. I walked out of the room and closed the door behind me, today was our combined bachelorette and bachelor party.

The wedding was thrown back a couple of months because of what happened but now, everything is back on track thanks to my uncaring future mother-in-law who couldn't wait any longer. I spotted my brother and his wife near the huge windows along with a few other people, my hand gently touched his shoulder letting my presence known.

"Jesus, took you long enough." My brother scoffed at my dress, was it that boring?

"Boys never get it." She rolled her eyes before turning to look at me, her smile grew even bigger when she saw me.

"It's a plain white dress." He said, she smacked the side of his head. He massaged his head with a playful frown while looking me up and down again. "Maybe if it had some color."

"Oh, I'm sorry that I couldn't pick a color besides white for my bachelorette party." I said with sarcasm in my voice.

"Ignore him. You look gorgeous, Talitha." Her hand brushed a strand of my hair behind my shoulder.

"Thanks, Jules." I smiled back, softly. We've both gotten very close over a couple of months, she's helped me a lot with dealing with the pain. In a way, she's like a mother figure to me, and I can see why my brother fell in love with her.

"Some boy will appreciate your beauty even when you're wearing the simplest colors." She said, my eyes were expected to go towards my fiancé but they didn't.

I looked at the front door as it opened, a black coat was handed to the butler, and my eyes squeezed together trying to figure out who this person is but I was met with their back. I found myself walking just a little closer to the door, is that who I think it is?
