"WHAT DO YOU MEAN you couldn't do it?"
Megan is in Robby's room with him, pacing in front of him while she runs her hands through her hair. Her first stop after practice that day was to his house to explain her current situation to him. She didn't know what to do and she needed a little insight and guidance. Now she realized that was the wrong plan, because he was livid.
"I— I Dom't know. I was going to, I swear. Then, I saw Devon and I just... what Silver said struck a nerve. I don't know what it was but I couldn't just leave after that."
"Yes, you could've, Megan." Robby stands up.
Megan stops her pacing and looks at him. "How, Robby?"
"By saying 'hey, thanks for the offer, but I don't think it's going to work out.' It's not rocket science!"
Megan's heart stings at his word. She didn't think he would be this mad at her. She thought he would be his same gentle self with her--sit her down and talk to her about what was wrong. Clearly, she was wrong.
"Robby, I tried. You don't understand—"
"Yes, I do, Megan!" Robby's chest rises and falls heavily with his breath when his eyes soften. "Megan, if you don't want to quit then tell me. Don't tell me you will and then not follow through with it."
"Robby, I tried. I thought I did but I..."
"What?"
Megan bites her lip and looks at him, tears stinging her eyes. "I really like it there, Robby."
"Oh, my God." Robby breaths and runs his hands over his face, turning the other way.
"Robby, I'm serious. I was there the other day and I... I don't know. It's nice. I have Tory and I have friends and..."
