It's been two weeks since, well, it's still a tough subject, and it's hard to come to grips with it, but It's been two weeks since Dean died. The demon Lilith brought the hellhounds into the room and they ripped Dean to shreds. Sam wouldn't let us burn the body, so we finally just buried it. Sam wouldn't burn it cause he said he was going to find out a way to get Dean back, but I'm not so sure that it's going to work. He's already tried making a crossroad deal, killing the crossroad demon, doing spells and whatnot, but nothing has worked, and now Sam is just quiet. I ask him everyday if he's ready to talk about it, and at first he would get angry, then he tried to lie about it, then he tried ignoring me, which didn't work since I would just keep nagging, and now he just shakes his head. Today was different though, Sam came into the hotel room, holding a newspaper, and said that he found a case in New Jersey. "What made you go looking for a case?" I asked Sam after he told me there there were a series of drownings that have been happening in spring lake, and no bodies were found. "Well, I decided today that I shouldn't suit and sulk. I mean, I'm really sad and angry about what happened to Dean, but I know that he wouldn't want this. He would want me to move on and continue hunting, so that's what I'm going to do." Sam said. "Well, if you ever want to talk about it, I'm open ears." I said. So we immediately started to get ready, since we had a seven hour drive to New Jersey. We both got dressed, and then quickly stopped at a gas station. "I'll fill up the tank, you go get some road snacks" Sam said as he turned off the car. So I went inside, grabbed a couple bags of chips, a bag of mnms, a pack of gum, and two packaged salads. I payed for them at the small front desk. The lady checking me out was a short elderly woman with purple hair and a nose perching, and several tattoos all across her arms. When I finished paying, I went back to the car and got into the passenger, and not too long after Sam got in too, and then we were off.
The drive was a smooth one so far, with barely any traffic and lots of pretty scenery. Me and Sam ate our food (he was very grateful that I got him a salad), then we jammed out to music. Soon all the stations on the radio were playing crappy music, so we decided to turn it off altogether. After a moment of silence, I decided to break it. "I spy with my little eye something green" I said jokingly. "That tree" Sam said almost immediately. I laughed, thinking that he was joking, but he actually looked at me expectantly. "Yup" I said finally, and Sam got so excited, which made me grin. Somehow no matter how many times or how long I'm in the car it's always a fun time. I looked at Sam's face while he tried to find something for me to spy, and I felt the all too familiar feelings of butterflies in the pit of my stomach. The truth about these butterflies was a secret that consumed me about a month ago. That secret? I like Sam. But what do I do now? I like him, but it's been so long since I was in a relationship, and the last relationship I was in was a fail. How do I tell Sam that I like him, and the worst thought imaginable: what if he doesn't like me back? I feel like I'm in a rom com, but less cheesy. Everybody in rom com movies are so cheesy, and they stutter when talking to their crush, but to me I just talk normal, and I feel normal, besides the butterflies in my stomach almost constantly. "I spy with my little eye something red" Sam said after a minute. "That cabin. Come on, that's the only red thing around! Do something harder" I said. Sam looked around again. "I spy something white" he said. "The clouds" I said immediately. "Which one?" Sam asked me with a large grin on his face. "Seriously? you can't do that!" I laughed. Soon we had to stop at a gas station for a bathroom break. I went in and did my business, then went out to the car. "By the way, we're gonna get to New Jersey at sundown, and then we'll get to spring lake just after the lake closes, but there's a spot that me and Dean have been to on the way to the lake that is really pretty this time of year, especially at sunset" Sam said as he got into the car and started driving. "And after we watch the sunset then we'll get to the lake after the guards leave and we'll be able to investigate" he added. "So what do you say?" I thought about it, pretty sunset, great scenery, and a little relaxation before a hunt. "Sounds nice" I said as i put my feet on the dashboard. "Woah woah no feet on the dash" Sam said. Right, I forgot, Deans baby, Sam's responsibility. "Sorry" I said as I quickly put my feet down.
