TO THE WATERS AND THE WILD - PART One
Alfea.
The elite school. Or rather the only place for all the otherworldly weirdos. This was where the powerful chose to cast all the quirks of all the realms together in hopes of making the most of it.
For me, it was just a place where I had to learn to live once again in the shadow of fraternal twins. I wasn't complaining. At least, not really. It was a choice after all.
Patrick was right on this point.
I had enough to be one of the most powerful fairies. But I was not interested in shining. My goal was far from all that. I knew what to shine really meant. I regularly made fun of the twins but I knew full well what their excellence really entailed.
If ever the threat that hung over us returned then they would be the first to be sent to the battlefield. Then would come the turn of the fairies. And as selfish as it sounded, I didn't have enough allegiance to fight in the name of this world.
After growing up all my life in a family where excellence and fame prevail, I aspired to live a quiet life far away from the spotlight. Maybe I'll even end up going to live in the First world. Away from all this heresy and magic.
Unfortunately, all these aspirations should be ignored for the time being. After all, Sylvia still had full authority over me. It was all a matter of patience. I just had to face the next few years at Alfea before finally taking off.
Yeah, wait, that...that I could do.
Or maybe not.
I grimaced in disdain just at the sight of the huge castle looming in front of me. There were already a ton of students occupying the estate. New faces and others, much less new. Speaking of which, it wasn't long before I was shaking my head at the sight of Patrick and Unity already mingling with their fan.
Each had their court of supporters gathered around them.
Patrick was quick to give me a military salute accompanied by a wink, leaving me to look away again only to see that I was no longer as alone as before.
I arched an eyebrow as I eyed from head to toe the strawberry blonde who had stopped beside me.
A new face.
She was completely lost.
The latter wore a long eggplant vest with a black floral dress. A blue and brown backpack occupied her back while an old blue travel bag lay at her feet.
