Jeno sighed as he picked up his daughter from the couch and placed her in the comforts of her bed.
It was almost 1 o'clock when Hari was watching TV and eventually drifted off into her dreamlands.
Jeno continuously called his girlfriend of almost five years now, as she wasn't home yet. He was worried sick. He kept on calling her while playing with his promise ring that they had exchanged on their second anniversary, hoping that nothing bad would have happened to her. He considered her his world.
Just as he was about to dial her number again, he heard the click of their apartment door, revealing a disheveled, drunk state of the girl, Hyejin.
He took a deep breath and moved towards her to help her with her state. But she pushed him away harshly. She had been doing this a lot lately. Jeno couldn't help but feel guilty at this. He thought that it was all his fault.
With a soft tone, he asked her "You know that you never drink so much, then why is it that the past few months you have been pushing your boundaries?"
Hyejin looked at him with hatred in her eyes and said "This is all your fault. Only if I never met you. Only if we never had Hari. Only if I never loved you, I would have had a better life."
"If it wasn't for you, I would have been a happier woman in this useless life of mine" she continued with words that hit him like a dagger.
"I hate you Lee Jeno", she screamed at him.
All Jeno could do was look down to the floor with blurry eyes and say "You are drunk. Go to sleep and we will talk this out tomorrow."
He didn't have a chance to say goodnight as she had already slammed the door shut and wondered into their shared bedroom.
Jeno fell to his knees and cried his heart out. That was all he could do anyway.

The next morning Jeno woke up to find Hyejin missing, and a letter on the fridge that read,
"Dear Jeno,
Believe it or not, I remember every part of our conversation yesterday. I don't feel guilty or regretful about anything that I told you, because it is the truth. I loved you, and now I don't. You might be the same man I fell for at 16 but I am not the same girl anymore. I want to push my limits, extend my boundaries and fly away from our world with Hari. She was a mistake anyway.
Don't try to contact me anymore as I have blocked everything regarding you and you should too. I was able to forget about the 5 years we spent, so you should be able to too.
From, Hyejin"
Jeno felt his heart rip out of his body. He wanted to cry his eyes out yet again but was to being able to. He never felt so void before.
Before his heart could even processes everything his hand had already reached his phone and he found himself calling her.
He was completely lost.
He called the next number he knew would care for him.
He called his friends, for whom he wouldn't hesitate for a second before calling them his family, as they were more of a family than his real ones.

His friends were infuriated by the fact that Hyejin had left him so abruptly. She had destroyed him and even called the symbol of their a love a "mistake".
But all they could do was comfort him at that moment as he went through the album that him and Hyejin had created on their third anniversary. Jaemin tried to take the album away from him but Jeno only held the album tighter and closer to his heart as he cried out loud.
They knew that he wouldn't be able to recover from that heartbreak and betrayal easily and held him closer to themselves as he broke down, for this was the first time any of them had seen him in such a bad condition.
