Haven had brought flowers to school. It didn't matter to anyone, though - they were always at the back of the class, always quiet, always looked over.. She tried to shake the thoughts out of their mind.
The thing she needed to think about was the fact she was going to confess to Alyssa, and she was going to do it now.
She walked up the stairs (it would've been easier to take the lift, but when she realised, she was already on the first floor). She clutched the flowers. They hoped Alyssa would take them, that she would accept what she said.
They emerged from the top of the staircase and came to the roof. Sure enough, there was Alyssa. Waiting.
Haven awkwardly shuffled over to the girl.
"Alyssa! Hey!" a grin lit up her face.
"Haven! You wrote the note?" Alyssa asked, glancing at the flowers.
Haven nodded, and it seemed as if Alyssa became happier.
"Alyssa- I- I like you.." Haven said, thrusting the flowers towards their friend.
Alyssa paused for a second.
And then accepted the flowers.
"Me too."
Haven sniffled and fell into Alyssa's arms.
She had a reason to live.
