I tuck my head in between my knees. Someone comes up beside me then wraps their arms around me.
"Are you okay Kaylee? I know it's hard to see someone you know so well die. It's not your fault she died," Damien sighs. I shake my head.
"That's not it. I am upset that he's blaming me, but that is just not it," I shake my head in my legs.
"What else is it?"
"I can't tell you. You might leave me," I sniffle. He grabs my hands and pulls then away from my face.
"I will never leave you. Even if you ever get bit, I pinkie promise." He grasps my pinkie with his. I lean forward and wrap my arms around his shoulders.
"I love you," I whisper into his ear.
"I love you too. What else is bothering you?" He asks. I become stiff.
"It's... It's nothing. Who all is alive?"
"We don't know yet. The few people we have found and know that are alive are Elizabeth, Jacob, Hank, George, Zachariah, Ethan, Lily Rin, me, and you." My eyes grow wide.
"Cinna? Sam?" He shakes his head.
"No one has seen her."
"Now don't you go thinking I died," a voice calls behind Damien. I stand up to find Cinna holding Sam with a katana. I run to her and give her a great hug. "Did you really think I was going to die from some stupid zombies?"
"Ethan thinks I let Kayla die."
"Oh, she's dead. Is Lily Rin..."
"Yeah. I saved her." We head back towards the group. They all greet us except for Ethan. He does not acknowledge me. I go over to Elizabeth, who is holding Lily Rin, and hold out my hands to hold her. Right when she is about to put her in my arms, Ethan barged in; nearly making us drop Lily Rin.
"What the hell is wrong with you? Do you want us to drop Lily Rin?" I scream at him. I am getting real tired of his shit, thinking I killed his wife. "I was the one that saved her! Where the hell were you?" I scream. He comes up to me and then drops his head on my shoulder. I hear him cry into my shoulder.
"I'm so sorry," he cries softly. I have never seen a male cry before. Sure, I have seen plenty of girls cry, but never in my life have I seen a boy cry. "I miss her so much and now she's gone. What am I goin' to do with Lily Rin? I can't take care of her," he sobs quietly into my shoulder. He wraps his arms around me, which makes me very uncomfortable.
"You are capable of taking care of her by yourself, but I will help you. I bet Elizabeth and Cinna will help you," I smile although he cannot see my face. He lifts off of my shoulder and wipes away his tears.
"Yeah, I guess you're right," he half smiles. I reach my arms out for Lily Rin. Elizabeth hands her to me then I hand her to Ethan. He hesitantly holds onto her.
"You need to relax and hold her head," I move his arms so he is holding her right. "She can sense your emotions. If you are upset she will be upset. If you are mad, she will be upset. So if you are happier, she will be a happier baby," I smile.
"Wow, how do you know this all?"
"Elizabeth told me," I admit.
"Oh, that makes sense," he laughe. He looks down at Lily Rin and smiles brightly. I smiled myself and put my hand in my stomach. I need to tell someone, but who? I cannot tell Elizabeth or Jacob because they are Damien's parents. I could tell Cinna, but she might think of me differently. I don't think I can tell anyone.
"Kaylee," Damien calls. I turn to find him walking away. "We are leaving to find a place to camp for the rest of the morning." I run to him and he grabs my hand. We walk half a mile away from the camp until we come to a small, open plain.
"We are going to rest here for a while. This will be our camp until the sun comes up. Then we will decide where we will go from there," Jacob announces. "Get some rest, everyone." I find a comfortable place in the grass and lay on my stomach. The grass smells amazing and so soft. I feel someone standing next to me and look over. Damien places a jacket on me. I have forgotten that all I had on was a bra, underwear, and one of Damien's shirt. The cool air relaxs my aching muscles. I close my eyes and let the cool air lull me to sleep.
When I wake up, I feel sick to my stomach. I roll over and throw up. I cough and throw up some more. I sit up on my knees. Someone places a hand on my shoulder. I look up and see Elizabeth.
"Morning sickness?" she asks. I nod my head. She kneels down and holds my hair back. I throw up one more time then wipe off my mouth.
"I'm fine. I just..."
"Are you pregnant?" She quickly asks.
"I didn't want to tell anyone and I definitely couldn't tell Damien! He would leave me." Elizabeth hushs me and pats my head.
"He would not leave you unless it isn't his. He told me you guys had sex a few times."
"Of course it is his. I just don't know how to tell him," I sniff. "I also thought you would be mad."
"No, I am so excited for you and I bet Damien will be more ecstatic than I." She helps me up then we make our way over to where Damien is; however, he is asleep. "Well, darn," Elizabeth grumbles. "For now, go lay down with him and try to get some more rest. The sun is going to be up very soon and you need rest," she smiles. As she walks away, I reach out and tug on her shirt sleeve. She turns back around.
"How do I tell him and everyone else?"
"Don't worry about telling everyone else. You just worry about you, Damien, and that baby," she smiles warmly. She walks away and I look down at Damien. He is sleeping soundly and snoring. I cuddle up behind him and grasp the back of his shirt. I hope he gets up soon. Elizabeth better help me with this. I stand back up and begin pacing around. Thoughts invading my mind: Good thoughts, bad thoughts, and sad thoughts. All of them making me not want to tell Damien about the baby. I run over to where Elizabeth is standing.
"Elizabeth," I breathe.
"What is it?" She asks.
"I can't bring myself to tell Damien about the possible baby," I sigh. She points behind me and I turn around. I find Damien standing behind me, his eyes wide.
"You're... you're pregnant?" He asks.
"I-I... i don't k-know."
"We are going to have a baby," he murmurs then smiles now in front of me. "We are going to have a baby!" He yells picking me up and swings me around. I look over at Elizabeth who is laughing. Damien sets me down. "Are you actually pregnant?" He asks second guessing.
"I don't know for sure, but I haven't started my period and I was sick this morning."
"And why didn't you tell me sooner?" He exclaims.
"I didn't tell anyone because I thought you would leave me and everyone would leave me behind." He wraps his arms around me, reassuring me that he does not care I am possibly pregnant.
"No one would leave you. Does anyone else know besides me and my mom?"
"Nope."
"Well, we need to tell everyone then we need to get things for the baby along with food and supplies since it went up in flames last night."

"You guys have a while yet and we are not for sure yet," his mom explains.
"I know, but the possibility!"

We wait for everyone to wake up and Damien calls everyone over.
"I have an announcement to make.... Kaylee is possibly pregnant," he smiles. There were many hoots and people come over to congratulate us. George comes up to us with a straight face. I have already prepared myself for his yelling and lecture; however, he does none of these. He wraps his arms around me. He leans in and whispered he was proud of me and congratulations.
"I can check to see if you are pregnant." He puts his hand on my stomach and pushes on it. "It's hard and there's a ridge there. We will need to get supplies for everyone and also for you and the baby," he smiles. "We will leave at once." I walk over to Cinna and Elizabeth.
"Hey, do you guys happen to have any clothes?" I ask.
"Why?" Elizabeth asks raising an eyebrow.
"Because we are going on a run," I smile, pointing down at myself.
"I think you are not going. You are pregnant and need to rest. Also there is a possibility you could get..."
"If I can't go on runs then I might go mad," I interrupt. "Also I won't get bit." Elizabeth sighs at my response. She walks away and a few minutes later comes back with some clothes.
"Put these on. You can go on the run, but you cannot leave their sides." I run and put on the clothes. I am now wearing black jeans, a black tank top, a long black jacket, and my black converse. I look good in this outfit. I strap my guns and knives to my leg and walk over to Damien. He smiles at me and then frowns.
"What are you doing?" He asks puzzled.
"I am going with you. Elizabeth told me I could as long as I stayed by someone's side, which will be your side," I smile.
He groans," of course she is letting you come. Well, lets get going then." We begin our journey to another hospital that Jacob knows of.
"This one is not that far away. It's a Care Center. Kaylee, you stay near Damien at all times. Damien, make sure she does not do anything stupid. We don't need to be putting that baby at risk."
"I know," Damien answers.
"Everyone just watch her and make sure she does not get surrounded or anything." The road is long. Trees cover either side of us and act as a canopy. This would be the worse place to be attacked. We could be flanked at any time, but we are not. It is about a mile away until the Care Center comes into view.
"Guys, this is the Care Center."
