Hinata bit the inside of her cheek to stop herself from shaking. They were so careful, but they were still caught. The gods must hate them.

However, she was more worried about Sasuke than herself. If he died, she would lose it. Hinata had already determined years ago that she couldn't live without him, and she still believes it to this day. The thought of living without him pained her greatly, but she knew that if she died he could be free from any burden she might've placed on him.

Hinata internally slapped herself to get back on track. She should be worried about surviving, not what happens if one of them were to die. She giggled at the thought of Sasuke scolding her.

When she walked into the conference room, all eyes were immediately on her. The room was full of both humans and vampires. In the center, Sasuke stood unarmed with his arms bound together, though he looked calm and uncaring all the same. Hinata recognized the two that stood beside him were his teammates whom he talked about every once in a while. The boy, Naruto as she recalled, looked at her and Sasuke grimly. The girl, Sakura, looked at Sasuke in heartbreak, Hinata narrowed her eyes a little, and her in pity, though she could see contempt and jealousy in there.

Swallowing her doubt, Hinata took her place next to Sasuke, and the guards immediately raised their spears to her neck. With Sasuke by her side, though, she wasn't scared. His presence made her feel strong.

Hinata took a glance around the room. She could see her father and cousin looking at her disappointingly while her sister looked only a little solemn. She refused to let them get to her. As if to prove her point, Hinata raised her hand to cling onto Sasuke's arm, who in return inched closer. Hiashi narrowed his eyes at her, but Hinata just looked ahead of her, blankly. She could see Sakura scowl at her in the corner of her eye but didn't care.

The head of Konoha, the Hokage as Sasuke told her, walked in moments later. The Hokage and Hiashi greeted each other formally, but anyone could spot the tension between them. The Hokage turned her attention back to the crowd.

"The trial of Vampire hunter, Uchiha Sasuke, and Vampire princess, Hyuuga Hinata shall commence."

Everyone got quiet immediately. The female leader focused her piercing gaze on the two in front of her. She could see the relationship between them just from the intimate way Hinata held his arm and how Sasuke let his aura wash over her protectively.

"Would you like to state your case, Uchiha?" Tsunade spoke, a light trace of venom and curiosity in her tone. Sasuke could've snorted, but the situation was too serious. He wouldn't have taken this seriously if Hinata hadn't been at stake.

Instead of Sasuke, Hinata spoke up like she expected him to stay silent. "Sasuke-Kun and I have been seeing each other for almost a decade," a dramatic gasp rang out through the crowd that almost made Hinata roll her eyes. "despite our positions on opposite sides of this war. However, we have not disclosed any information regarding the war, ever. I will not assist the humans nor will he assist the vampires regardless of our relationship status unless we are threatened." Her tone left no room for argument as the tension in the room had gotten even thicker. Murmurs filled the room.

Ino looked at her best friend, who frowned heavily at Hinata.

"Well, Sasuke? Got nothing to say?" The Hokage taunted. Hinata narrowed her eyes at her. Sasuke internally sighed. Honestly, it's not like they were exchanging vampires and humans with one another, and why do they care about his love life? They were encouraging him to look for a maiden anyway.

"There is nothing to say," he started, ignoring the hateful way the Senju narrowed her eyes. "we simply decided to pursue a relationship despite our opposing race. This shouldn't be a problem." He stated in an as-a-matter-of-fact tone. "Also, It would be wise to tell your guards to back off." His aura suddenly grew violent as he looked towards the guards pressing their spears on his lover's neck.

Tsunade frowned heavily. "Is it wise to threaten anyone in your condition?" She said. Sasuke's only response was his eyes bleeding into blood red with three black tomoe circling his pupil.

"Sasuke-Kun, it's alright." Hinata smiled at him. Instantly, all his challenging and threatening aura disappeared. Tsunade noticed how his eyes didn't change back, but the emotion in them wasn't hatred or anger. She briefly noticed how Sakura's hands clenched alarmingly tight. Hinata turned back to face the crowd.

"As I've said before, we don't intend to hurt anyone that has nothing to do with us or our relationship." Despite how friendly she was smiling, the room's temperature dropped several degrees. 'This must be her vampire power...' Tsunade analyzed.

Suddenly, Sasuke broke his handcuffs. Alarmed, every guard immediately sprung into action, but Sasuke was way faster. He picked Hinata up bridal style and leaped up in the air, avoiding all the incoming swords and spears. An ice platform formed under his feet immediately.

"Konoha," Sasuke said in contempt, his eyes swirling with hate once more. "You get a pass this time, but you ever threaten me and my lover's lives or relationship once more. I'll Kill You." Sakura flinched harshly, Naruto gritted his teeth in worry and irritation, and Tsunade simply narrowed her eyes once more.

Hiashi spoke up suddenly. "Hinata, you have already disgraced us with your incompetence. Would you dare disgrace us further by associating, not to mention entertaining a relationship with this human?" His eyes narrowed dangerously. Following his lead, all the other Hyuuga members stood up and activated their Byakugan, challenging her.

Hinata's expresión remained blank. "Father," she spoke after moments of tension built silence. "You lost control of me when you decided to abandon me." She said coldly. Hanabi flinched. Neji's eyes widened a fraction in surprise. Hiashi's expression remained unchanged though anyone could tell he was angry.

"My patience runs thin," Sasuke says abruptly. Turning with Hinata still in his arms, he jumps through the ceiling and goes to who knows where.

Silence ensued. Tsunade cleared her throat to get everyone's attention. "Well, needless to say, this meeting is adjourned." And with that, she left.

With everyone leaving, Naruto decided to seek out Sakura knowing the feelings she harbored towards their male teammate. He found her on a bench looking at the sky blankly.

"Sakura-Chan?" He said quietly. At first, she didn't move, then she slowly looked at him with teary eyes. "All this time I've been getting stronger for him, trying to impress him, only to find out a vampire has him wrapped around her finger." And with that, she broke into tears. Naruto quickly rushed to console her. "Why her!? I've done so much for him and she just steals him away!" She screamed in anguish.

Naruto, dense as he may be, knew it was her emotions talking for her. He had to get her to calm down or else she'd do something she'd regret forever. Though, he couldn't deny he felt similar feelings towards the Hyuuga princess. Though he didn't want to admit it, a small part of him wanted to blame her for Sasuke leaving them. He belonged with team 7 but she just took him away like it was nothing.

Naruto sighed, knowing that the feeling wouldn't leave any time soon.
