Anna's p.o.v
I woke up the next morning with a slight headache, caused by the tears and alcohol whilst wrapped in Nills arm next to my daughters bed.
She was sitting up wide awake just looking round the room crying
"Ella hunny whats wrong?" I asked her
"They dont have any nice posters in this room" She cried, this caused me to sigh in relief, I thought she was in pain
"What do you mean it has some lovely ones" I told her trying to cheer her up
"No mummy in my room when i wake up daddy and my unles are smiling at me here its plain" she crosses her arms at this
"Ella we can put a poster up, but only if you ask nicely no miss sassy okay" I tell her sternly
"But Louis said it was okay" She burst into tears as she thought it was okay to be sassy
"Louis is so dead" I muttered "Ella stop crying, Uncle Louis was wrong you can only be sassy to him and no one else okay?" See how he likes miss sassy
"Okay mummy" she said instantly cheering up
"Ella, today they will start the treatment. I want you to be a brave girl and not make any fuss not matter how much it hurts, you just talk to me during it and maybe have an ice lolly" I start tearing up at the thought of her in pain
"Will I be alowwed a pink one mummy?" She asks so innocently
"Any colour you want" I say, causing her eyes to go wide in delight
"I like this place then" she tells me "Can we wake daddy up?" She askes
"Go on then but be gentle" i tell her, i get of Nialls lap
She climbs out of bed and sits on his lap and begins poking his face. Niall keeps moving his face then suddenly begins to tickle Ella
"Where you poking me missy" he says whilst still tickling her
"No...oo.....ooo" she laughs
"Niall we're not the only ones on this floor so be quiet" I tell him suddenly remebering that once we open the curtain arund her bed we may see many faces
I open up the curtain and see everyone else has already done so, almost every child has at least one person with them, most of them either mum or dad except for one kid right down the end of the room who is bye them selves. I can tell they are awake but they are staring at the wall opposite them
I walk down towards the child and pull up a chair
"Hello" I say politely, "Whats your name?"
His eyes open wide "me" he points at himslef
"Of course you" i smile at him
"My name is Max" he said warily
"Hello Max, im Anna. How old are you?"
"Im 5" he said in a boastful manner
"Really," I faked shock "that old!"
"Yep" he popped the P
"So where is you family Max?" I asked wondering who would leave a child alone at a time like this
"Mummy and my sister went to visit the angels, daddy is having a long sleep dwnstairs, do you know when he will wake up?" He was so innocent
"Im not sure Max, why is he having a long sleep?" I was intrigued
"I was feeling poorly so mummy said we had to go to the doctors, she was crying and sissy got dad and he drove us, then a boy ran in front of us so daddy didnt want to hit him and swerved making the car crash" he looked so sad
"Oh no, well how about i tell you a story?" I wanted to take his mind of what had happened
"Yes please" he smied at me
*A few hours later*
I had spent the majority of the day speaking to Max. Niall ws with Ella so i wasnt worried, this little boy needed someone so i was there.
"Anna," a nurse called me through to a waiting room "please sit"
"Is something wrong with Ella?" I immediately paniked
"No Ella is fine for the moment, however im here to talk about Max Peterson" She informed me
"Oh isnt he an angel" i smilled at thr thought of him
"Yes he is, and unfortunately his father died this morning" she told me making my eyes open wide
"Oh no, he willl be devestated" i said feeling incredibly sad
"Yes, there is one slight complecation though" she told me
"And what is that?" asked immediately
"Well, Mr Peterson woke up for 2 hours," she began to tell me "and during they time we informed him that you were with him looking after him and being there for him."
"And what did he say?"
"He asked to change his will" she told me
"Wait what?" i was shocked, surely he would want to visit his child
"He changed it so that all of his money and posessions goes to you until Max is 18 and legally an adult except for the house and cars they are yours too keep, the money is split between you and Max. Max gets to have the money once he reaches 18 and you get to use the money for childcare" she told me
"Wait childcare?" i asked confused
"Mr.Peterson wishes for Max to stay with you untill a more permenant home is found, he wants you to meet the person and decide whether they are suitable for Max." She reads of the paper
"Oh okay, out of interest just how much money would Max and I be recieving?" I asked
"Mr. Petersons current total amount of money is £100 million pounds" My jaw dropped
"Are you sure thats right?" I asked not wanting to get my hopes up
"It is, Mr Peterson owned many buisness' whcih have all been left under your name." She informed me before getting up and leaving the room
I sat there thinking for a while about who would deserve to have Max as a child and it me
I know the most perfect couple in the worldr
