My stomach groaned as I filled my shoes beneath me with puke out of my mouth while Zayn, Kurt, and Riley were nearby me standing with a deeply shocking look on their faces.
"Oh goodness," said Riley "Are you okay?" she pulled my hair back away from my face as I tried to gather what's left of my breath.
"I am fine," I said, "someone call an ambulance,"
"I already did," stated Zayn as he hid his camera in his bag.
"Hopefully he is not dead," Kurt mumbled with a frown.
"But he is.... he is dead," I said
The police came as well as the ambulance while we were there standing as we thought about how easily it is to lose your life.... To walk and then one day bang you're dead, and your soul is not yours to claim anymore.
I had never felt depressed like that before because seeing someone dead in front of me as their last breath vanishes into thin air wasn't something I'd ever expect to see but I have seen it now and I know how that feels right now.
Next morning, I woke up to the flying murmuring birds outside of my window as I looked below near me at my beautiful peace lily begging to be watered. I rose from bed yawning as I hurried to the bathroom to wash the tiredness away from my face, followed with me washing my mouth hoping that I'd never get to feel the smell of puke on me anymore, and then I went back to my room to water my beloved peace lily flower while I kept staring at the man who was jogging across the street from the window of my room.
"Hello," I figured he said that from his mouth across the street as he stared directly at me.
I waved to him, and he came closer to my window.... I opened it.
"how are you after all these years," he said with a sneaky smile on his sharp face as he winked at me with his mischievous grassy eyes.
"may I ask," I said, "who are you?"
"Mike," he said "Mike from Abu Dhabi. Surely you did not forget me,"
I stopped for a second as I watched the earth below me swallow me to tiny pieces as I tried to push back the thoughts from the back of my mind to make sense of whatever was going on in front of me. How could Mike be here. How could he be here standing right in front of me asking me.... asking about me.... trying to lure me back into those memories I'd long buried since way back then.
"So, tell me," he continued "I hope you're not surprised but do tell me how your dear mother is doing?"
"that is really none of your business," I replied as I closed the window on his face.
"really," he shouted staring right through my eyes
"really,"
And as soon as that happened Riley came into my dorm room witnessing what had just happened as Mike vanished.
"Who is that?" she asked as a smoking cloud of vape came out of her mouth. "is he your boyfriend or something,"
"No," I said, "just forget it,"
"well, that'd be horrible if he is your boyfriend," she said
"why is that?"
"Because I was planning to set you up on a blind date with Kurt,"
"Kurt who is in literature with us?"
"Yeah," she said as she smiled sitting down on my bed looking at my lily "why not?"
"I don't know," I said as I pulled out a pink crop top from my wardrobe with black skinny jeans "I barely know him. I do know you though, and you've been always greeting me whenever you saw me, and inviting to weird parties that I often turn down,"
"Yeah, but clearly we're both not lesbians, and Kurt has a crush on you,"
"He barely knows me,"
"If you keep saying that you won't ever get a boyfriend," said Riley as she stretched her legs on my bed
"I thought he's into men only," I said trying to get away from the topic and shut it down
"You won't shut down this conversation like how you shut down that window on that poor guy, and just because Kurt dyes his hair Silver does not mean he's queer,"
"You do have a point, but I am really not interested in dating anyone," I said, "Zayn is more interesting than Kurt,"
"Zayn is Bisexual," Riley said as Kurt walked in on us. I could tell from that look on his face that he had eavesdropped on us.
"Zayn is Bisexual?" he said, "I never knew,"
"Yep," Riley said, "His family in Morocco kicked him out when he was 16, and then he moved in with his aunt in a big mansion of some sort in London until 19 that's when his aunt decided to send him to study here because apparently, she was sick from seeing him laying around doing nothing most of the time,"
"So, he is one year older than all of us," I said
"No," Kurt said, "I am 22 years old, but I do have an explanation for that,"
"and what is your explanation?" Riley asked
"Me failing my classes due to my dyslexia," Kurt stated.
"Oh c'mon. You're not going to blame that on your dyslexia are you," Riley said while making pig cries from bursting out of laughter.
"It's not funny," Kurt said as he closed the door strongly, we witnessed its creaking through the whole building.
"That wasn't nice of you," I said to Riley as I shrugged.
"It's fine," Riley said, "He'll get over it,"
I left Riley to her own devices as I went into the bathroom to get ready for my first class of the day. I wore my pink crop top and my jeans, and then I started to put on a tiny bit of makeup here and there while thinking of what had happened earlier and that weird occurrence between me and Mike. How could he be here after all what he had done to me back in Abu Dhabi. I tried to make sense of it but the best thing to do was to push all those thoughts back in, and to never tell anyone of it.
"It's your phone," Riley said, "Come out,"
I went back into my room nearby my bed to get my phone only to see Riley there with a surprised look on her face.
"Why is there a text from Samu on your phone," Riley said as her eyes pierced my broken shattered soul "I will never forgive you. Sent from Samu 8:12 am this morning,".
