The Avengers gathered around the bed, where Thor was now looking back at all of them and their shocked yet relieved expressions.  He looked around the room, getting his bearings and coming to the realization that he was back at the compound, and had narrowly avoided death.  Letting out a shaky breath, he tried to speak but was struggling due to his current state and the tubes that had been keeping him alive had only just recently been removed.

"What happened, " he asked weakly, " how did I end up here? Where's Loki? "

Tony stepped forward, hands in his pockets.  Cocking his head to one side, he looked at Thor and sucking his teeth, thought about where he would begin explaining the details of what happened to the God of Thunder.

"We're glad to have you back, buddy...but we have a bit of a serious problem.. where do I start? " he paused for a moment, looking back to his team mates before turning his gaze once more to Thor, "We have Loki in our custody for now, so we can assess whether or not he is really a threat at this point. We...also have a mystery woman in custody, in the next room.  She's the one we're really trying to figure out.. We don't know who she is, where she came from, or how she managed to very nearly kill you. We initially thought she was connected to your annoying wannabe tyrant of a brother, but it would seem even he doesn't know who she is. Point is, she's really scary and we need to know exactly which side she's on.."

Thor looked down at his hands resting on the blankets covering his body for a moment, before looking back to Tony and the rest of the Avengers.  He opened his mouth to speak, but his voice came in an almost raspy whisper as he looked to Tony.

"I was summoned by my father to apprehend Loki once more to face my father's judgment, " he started, "He warned me about this woman, it seems, but he would say no more other than she was dangerous.  I had no idea until I encountered her after finding Loki. He wanted to keep Loki away from her. "

"Why do you suppose that is, Thor?" asked Stark.

"I have no idea. " was Thor's reply.

"Perhaps we should speak to this woman again, " offered Steve, "maybe she could help us to figure out what's going on and why this happened..."

"Maybe, " shrugged Tony, "or maybe Point Break here could get some answers from her, once he's had a chance to heal a bit more. "

Thor chuckled and shook his head at the mention of the moniker given to him by Stark.  It brought back the memory of their first encounter, before they had formed the current Avengers team.

"Tony, " said Steve, "do you believe this woman is still a threat? "

"Honestly, Cap. I don't know.  When we spoke, she seemed genuinely sorry for almost killing Thor.  I have to think maybe she's not.  She doesn't know who she is.  The most shocking thing for me was how long she told me she's been here.  Two hundred years. "

"You think she might be Asgardian, " Thor interjected.

"Do you think she might be, Thor? " asked Tony.

"It's possible.  I would need to speak to father regarding this matter, and why he wants to keep this woman away from my brother.  I do need to return Loki to face my father's justice for what he's done...and for threatening Jane. "

"Jane? " said Steve, "what does he want with Jane Foster? "

"I know my brother. His heart is still set on vengeance.  He would have used her to get to me. " was the reply from Thor.

"Well, then. It's almost a good thing he found this woman instead, " replied Tony.

The assembled Avengers sat in silence for a brief moment before Clint looked to Thor and opened his mouth to speak.

"There's one more thing, " he said, looking directly at Thor.

"What is it? " asked Steve, looking at Barton.

"There was another woman here.  She, we assume, is Asgardian.  She came and visited Thor first, then appeared to visit Loki before disappearing completely.  All this went down just before you woke up. All we know is she was there for a moment, before disappearing in shimmering green light. " Thor's head shot up at the mention of green light, just as Clint finished his recounting of the strange visitor.

"I know who it is, and she is no threat, " stated Thor.

Just at that moment, Coulson walked in.

"Oh? And who would that be? " he asked.

"She's my mother..." answered Thor, staring at the agent levelly.
