NATALIA Bella Lestrange kept her head hung low as she walked the streets of Diagon Alley.

She'd bargained a day to herself after convincing her guardians, Mr and Mrs Callistare, to let her go alone to Diagon Alley for new school supplies.

She had a stack of new school books, including a strange furry one that started growling when she picked it up, fastened with a belt and hanging at her side.

In her other hand was a small battered purse which still held enough money for her to buy a new tie.

The bell atop the door rang out when she stepped into Madam Malkin's.

Natalia snaked her way to the back of the store, swiftly grabbing a Gryffindor tie and scrunching it up in the palm of her hand before making her way to the counter.

"We're out of change so let me just grab some coins from the back for you doll." The witch at the counter told her after Natalia gave her a full galleon when the tie was worth 15 sickles.

"Oh no it's fine just keep the change." Natalia said, but the witch had already disappeared.

She snatched the tie off the counter, stuffing it in her pocket before turning on her heal to leave.

"Stealing something Lestrange?"

Just as she thought she had made it through the day without being recognised, she ran into a familiar figure that happened to be Harry Potter.

He stood there with a smirk and pair of robes hung over his arm.

For a second, Natalia took in how much he'd grown over summer. he was at least a head taller than her now and his face had thinned out.

"No," She replied, looking over his shoulder instead of making eye contact. "I already paid I just don't want change."

"New tie?" He asked, trying to keep the conversation going.

Natalia however did not fancy talking to him so tried to keep her answer short. "No, robes."

"Robes that fit in your pocket?" He questioned, seeing around her lie.

Even if she had a bag, it'd be easy to tell she was lying. Natalia seemingly hadn't grown much over summer so her robes were plenty big enough.

"Fine it's a tie, happy?" She sighed, getting fed up with their conversation.

"Very."

When she thought the questions were over, they continued.

"Why are you buying a new tie?" He lowered his voice to finish. "Set yours on fire?"

Harry was one of the only people who knew about her Pyrokinesis, although she would hardly say she could control what she did with fire.

She'd ran out of class after having a panic attack, and even though nobody else cared to notice her, he followed her to a strange room on the seventh floor that he never knew was there.

The room was lined in metal, the walls, floors, door and ceiling were all steel and she sat in the middle surrounded by a ring of flames.

Natalia had made him promise he would never tell another soul what he saw, but he always found ways to bring it up and test her limits.

"It's none of your business Potter."

It was none of his business to know what happened to her tie that had been perfectly in tact at the end of second year.

It was none of his business that she had decided she hated being a Gryffindor.

It was none of his business that she'd taken a pair of scissors and cut up her tie before trying to burn it.

"Here you go doll, 2 sickles." The witch returned to the counter holding out two silver sickles for Natalia to take.

She stuffed the coins into her purse and gracefully fled out the door, leaving Harry to watch as she left.

Her black dress swayed around her knees and she straightened her spine when she felt the cool air of outside hit her back.

Natalia never understood why Harry kept trying to talk to her, no one ever talked to her and she only had one friend.

And yet he could never leave her alone.
