How lucky am I to have a birthday right after a big move? I have no friends and therfore, I have to spend it with my beloved, complicated family. Two younger brothers and an overbearing mother would make for the perfect celebration.
In the morning I walk into the kitchen to find an empty room with a letter.
"Figured you'd want to spend the day alone, have fun!"
With the letter was a single ticket to my favorite band. Mainskin
For once mother finally got a gift right. Nosebleed seats or not I'm going.
My plan to fall in love with the lead singer was simple. Find a way to get back stage, look into his eyes and fuck all night.
Because I didn't have a car and my family was gone I had to take the bus, with 15 other teenage girls going to the same concert I was.
Camouflage would be an understatement. We all look like cosplayers pretending to be the same person. Crop top and high-waisted jeans. No way I'm this basic. When the bus stopped about 10 minuets away from the arena, me and my 15 doppelgangers unloaded and began to migrate north. The line to the door looked like it wrapped around the whole building and so we waited. "I don't think they're letting anyone in yet" "I guess that's why the line is so long" two boys chatted next to me. Both tall and smelled really good. Like him. From before. When things were going good, and I was the definition of happy.
A hostile nudge woke me out of my trans. "Oops sorry mamma" said one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen. Her dreads reached Below her butt and she had on a shirt that left nothing to the imagination. She laughed and turned around to her friends chuckling that she was drunk enough to have stumbled onto a stranger. "I'm Euri" she said with eye contact stong enough to make a horse uneasy. " hello, I'm Isla" she immediately responded to my accent. "Where are you from babe" "Greenwich" I responded. "Shut the fuck up, noway ur british! What brings you to Seattle?" A question soon interrupted by the sudden rush of fans crowding the doors. The line was moving. I turned around again to see if Euri was there but she was gone. Maybe I'll see her in there.
