"Ryuzaki,what are you doing out there in the rain?"I called out. L turned his attention to me but,he did not hear what I said. He put a cupped his hand on his ear as a signal to say it louder."I said,what are you doing out there in the rain?"I nearly shouted.L leaned in closer and smirked as if he was purposely acting like he didn't hear but,I already knew L wouldn't do something so immature. I suppressed the urge to roll my eyes and made my way towards L in the pouring rain."What are you doing?"I move a wet piece of hair out of my face as I felt the water drench my clothes.
"Ah,just listening to bells ring"L replied in a casual tone.
"What do you mean?I don't hear anything."
L looks away into the sky.''Really?"he says deadpan."Its been unusually loud today."
I chuckle."Your not making any sense."
L sighs."I know,nothing I say makes sense anymore"
I grin" Ryuzaki, we all know that is not true. You are the greatest detective I know
L sulks at him."I suppose your right"
I frown slightly."C'mon Ryuzaki,cheer up. I made a promise to bring Kira to justice and your going to be right by my side when I do." I say sounding confident, lying straight through my teeth.
L snaps his up to look at me."Tell me Light,how long will you continue to lie?"his wide black eyes bore into mine.Damn,he's making me uncomfortable.
I open my mouth to speak but my words are muffled by a finger on my lip.
"Don't speak."L croaks."The words that come out of your mouth are bitter sweet."
I gently yank his finger away."Ryuzaki,what are you talki---"
L rages"STOP INSULTING MY INTELLIGENCE!" I feel a stinging sensation on my cheek. Did L really just slap me? I stare at him shocked. L's face expression doesn't change in the least bit and he leans over my shoulder. "I apologize my actions were... irrational" he murmurs in my ear and takes a step back turning away.
"Ryuzaki I..."I was lost for words. I never expected L to get so angry with him or at least make his anger and stress so evident towards him
"Don't explain yourself Yagami-kun "L insisted. "There's nothing you can say or do that will change my theory and reasoning"
What was this strange feeling?Why do my cheeks feel wet? Am I crying or is it just the rain?
"Ryuzaki ple-"
"Yagami-kun if your not going to help assist in the in the investigation please do take your leave. You no longer have to stay."
