Salem grabbed a purse that had her phone, Airpods, and pretty much all her essentials in it. Since Mason texted her that he was on his way just a couple minutes ago, she should probably get going soon. "Mom! How much longer? We need to go!" she yelled down the stairs. She went down and sat next to her mom on the couch peering over her shoulder, watching her franticly type e-mails to people. She wasn't sure who it was going to specifically, but she knew it was for her job. "You know, you don't have to work right? I make enough money for the family as is." Salem knew it was sad she was most definitely the main provider for her family, but she loved acting and making music. Plus, her mother was struggling before she started acting.  She just never quit her job. Her mother kissed her forehead and hugged her "I know Sweetheart, I would just feel terrible if I put that pressure on you. I'll drive you to your little get together in a second, you can get in the car." 

Salem nodded and grabbed the car keys. She walked out to the car, unlocked it and got into the passenger seat. She watched her mom exit the house and hop into the driver's seat. She handed her the keys and her mom turned on the car. They drove in comfortable silence as Salem looked out the window watching the trees and buildings and other cars speed by. "So," Her mother spoke up "Is this like a date or are some of your other friends gonna be there too" Salem sighed "1. It wouldn't have been a date either way and 2. Yes, Miguel and Tristan are also going to be there" She stated. Her mother mumbled an "Alright" under her breath as they pulled into the parking lot. Salem exited the car and waved goodbye to her mom. She took out her phone and texted the groupchat.
