I'm going to murder the man that is currently standing next to me. Said man is my disgusting co-worker, Brian. He keeps flirting with me and it's annoying.

I eye the knife in the basin and seriously debate on using it.

I'm saved from having to when Sofia my other co-worker and best friend walks in.

"Are you from Tennessee? Cause you're the only ten I see," Brian says suggestively.

Sofia and I both scrunch up our faces in disgust.

Help me, I mouth to her. She smiles and says, "Table six is asking for you."

Not needing to be told twice I bolt out of the kitchen. Sofia laughs as she follows behind me.

I look at her, "Thank you. I really needed to get away from him." She nods, "You're welcome but table six is actually asking for you."

I grab some menus and walk over to the table. I smile when I see who it is. "Hey. Haven't seen you in a few days."

Tyson laughs. "Well I've been a bit busy but I had to come to see you 'cause I missed you."

Tyson is extremely attractive. He's got blue eyes and caramel skin. Him being 6'0 has its perk, he's the captain of the basketball team.

Tyson is like an annoying older brother to me. He's three years older than me. I met him when I was thirteen.

I was walking home from school one day and this boy wouldn't leave me alone. Tyson and his friend were walking past when they saw.

Tyson's friend got into a fistfight with him that left him with a black eye and I'm pretty sure a broken nose.

After that, he steered clear of me. Tyson and I became friends. Although I'm not sure what happened to his friend.

I playfully roll my eyes, "Well that's a shame cause I didn't miss you."

He acts like he got stabbed in the heart and says, "You hurt me you know." I lightly hit his head with a menu.

I hand out the menus to the rest of the table which consists of three other people.

From the corner of my eye, I see my manager watching me. I better get moving. "Let me know when you're ready to order."

They nod and I walk away. I plaster on a fake smile as I walk past my manager. He gives me the side eye and writes something on his clipboard. He looks like he would rather be anywhere but here. Well, guess what buddy I'd also rather be anywhere else.

I mentally roll my eyes and wait by the counter.

An hour later my shift is almost finished. I don't notice Tyson approach me until he's waving his hand in front of my face, "Hello, earth to Lyra. What time does your shift finish?"

The clock strikes seven. I smile widely and rip off my apron. "Right now, why?"

"We're going to the court to shoot some hoops. You should come. And tell Sofia to come."

I smile knowing that he has a huge crush on her. "Sure we'll be there. I just gotta stop by my apartment."

Sofia walks out and smiles at Ty. She doesn't see where she's going because she's too busy looking at Ty and hits her ankle on the corner of the counter. She drops her bag and they both bend down to pick it up.

I smile at them and think about how they'd be such a cute couple.

I mentally make a note to try and get them to spend more time with each other.
