Madison's POV
I sat in the cafeteria with my best, well only friend Louis. The table in the corner is OUR loner table, and no one really comes over. Other than us, the people who come over here is the populars, and they come, not for lunch, but to harass Louis and I.
"Whatcha writing?" Louis squeaked, scaring the crap out of me.
"The usual, just how much I hate you." I mumbled rudely.
"What did I do to deserve such a bratty best friend like you?"
Just then Elena, the leader of basically the whole school, sashayed over my table. She was flawless. I may hate her guts, but I can admit I envy her looks. She flips her long, glossy hair and bats her big brown eyes.
"Hun, you don't need the carbs in that cheeseburger." she said, picking my lunch tray up, "You're too fat already!" Lucy, one of the clique members screamed. With that, Elena dumped the tray on my head, spilling over onto my diary. Her clique bursted into high pitched giggling.
I wanted to scream. I wanted to jump up and choke Elena and her stupid little snotty clique. But I'm better than that.
I started speed walking towards the bathroom, tears forming. Louis chased after me and grabbed my arm. "Don't listen to those awkward know it alls. You're amazing. They're just jealous," he calmly whispers.
That's obviously not true, but good enough. I smile and Louis wraps me into a tight hug. I was pretty happy until the popular jocks just had to come over to Louis.
They were like the boy version of Elena's group. Harry, with his charming curls and attitude, was the leader. Then there was Zayn and Liam.
"I got an idea!" Harry smirked. Zayn laughed but Liam shyly watched. "You two can be twins!" Zayn chimed in. Just then, Harry dumped his own tray on Louis. The whole cafeteria laughed, except for Liam. But when Harry turned around, Liam nervously started chuckling.
Wow, for a second I thought there was another person who had feelings. I guess I judged Liam too soon.
I turn to Louis, expecting some sort of pep talk. Instead, I saw tears welled up in his bright blue eyes. It was heart breaking. I may have been friends with him forever, but I've never seen him cry. It made me furious.
"How dare you! Who do you think you are?" I said confidently.
The whole cafeteria laughed once again. Nobody takes me seriously here.
"Wow, somebody finally decided to talk," Another one of Elena's clique, Mackenzie shrieked with her pitch perfect voice. "I didn't think IT had a voice."
I turned to Louis. He was staring at me with his mouth hanging open in shock.
"Come on Mads. Let's just ditch school today." Louis just whispered to me, tugging at my arm.
"Yeah, why don't you two go and take a breather, and run away!" Lucy snarled. And finally, the last member of the group,Liz, shot me a sympathetic smile, but soon faded away. She always like the nicest one of the group, but peer pressure always takes over.
I grab my best friend's arm and dash out of this awful prison.
"What another fun day in the cafeteria, right?" I sighed.
"Yup. Let's forget about it," Louis said as we walked to our special place
