Nash's POV
After taking the letter from Erron, I ran over to the post office, mentally cursing myself for getting a hard on while he was straddling me. I can't help it, I'm into boys, I don't get why he didn't shoot me after he took control of everything.
I made it to the post office window, and waited for the clerk to turn his attention to me.
He looks towards my direction with a handful of letters in his hand, and starts filing them in the proper shelf in alphabetical order, "What can I do fer ye?"
I look down at Erron's letter to see a seal that resembles two revolvers, I hand it to the clerk. "This needs to be delivered to Chino Hills, California, Asap." I ask quietly.
"And what makes you think I'll do anything like that? I know you're the mayor's son but-" He tries to say before I interrupt him.
"Black's orders." Is all I say which makes him turn his full attention to me. He takes the letter from my hands and calls for a runner, who shows up in a few seconds.
"Chino Hills, Cali. Erron Black wants it delivered right now!" He barks at the runner who speeds off out of North Carolina into the direction of California.
I walk back to my father's... well I guess it's Erron's building now, and I have to live there, this is going to be difficult. I want to avoid Erron as much as possible, I don't wanna accidentally anger him and have him take it out on me, he could give a shit less about my condition.
I'm near the front door when Erron comes out with a stack of papers and throws them to the ground, I can tell they're town records for every bill my father and previous mayors have signed. He lights a match and immediately throws it into the stack of papers, which sets the entire stack on fire. He laughs while looking at it like he did some sort of achievement.
"It is some sort of achievement, Nash. Every single damn law is now gone, and can be replaced by mine." He says, which causes my eyes to widen, did he read my mind?
"No. stupid. You're thinkin' out loud." Erron says, with an annoyed look on his face.
I put my hand on the back of my neck and laugh awkwardly, which in response Erron shakes his head and chuckles silently. "Nash, round up Hayes in the building and wait in the main room, I got you two a task." He says, before disappearing into the building, I could see a smirk on his face.
'What's this cowboy up to now.' I thought.
I walk into the building and upstairs to see Hayes laying down on a hammock he made for his room, staring at the ceiling. "Hayes." I say, which causes him to look at me. I can see tears in his eyes now, I run over to him and hug him. "What's wrong?"
"He took Will, just like that. Our older brother is dead Nash, w-why?" Hayes says, sobbing immensely. He puts his head on my shoulder and lets his tears fall.
He kept crying until I heard the door swing open to reveal Erron, standing there looking annoyed. He walks over to me and Hayes and starts to shake his head.
"Quit cryin." Erron begins. "Cause I shot your brother in a duel is no reason to bitch about it."
Hayes suddenly pulled away from my arms and pushed Erron backwards into the wall. He throws a punch at Erron which he grabs and kicks him in the gut , and throws him towards the hammock. Erron pulled out a revolver and stuck it in Hayes's mouth, leaning against the hammock to prevent him from moving. I wouldn't want to imagine the taste of cold steel with a bullet loaded to kill me. I see Hayes look over and beg me to help him with his pleading eyes but I'm too scared to do anything. I can't do anything.
