He stared into her eyes, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"You're different. You're not like other girls."

She stared back into his eyes. "However it's meant, this line can be interpreted as a backhanded insult. By saying that my intelligence, sense of humor, or independence makes me 'different from other guys/girls,' you're effectively implying that the rest of my gender sucks."

Kicking him in the shin as she passed, she walked away.
