𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝗺𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐡amari ended up finding out the after school plans in school, being that she missed that conversation in the morning. everyone was gonna go home and get clothes for the weekend, then the group would stay at dd and notti's crib cause their mom would be gone for the weekend. amari texted her mother in class when she found out to make sure that it was okay, and her mother said it was fine. the teens had just been released from school for the day and began the walk home.
"yo that nigga mr.pierce be on me and amari dick odee." notti begins to complain, preparing to tell the group a story. "aight so boom, me and mar sittin in class and that weird nigga that be sittin next to her wasn't there so i sat there. he gonna say to do a turn and talk about some question so i turn to mar and i'm like 'not gonna lie niggas don't know what the fuck he chattin about' and she like 'yea he just sayin shit' and we started laughin. this nigga gonna say 'ethan and amariana you should not be having conversations in my class. you're obviously not on task cause this question isn't funny. i'm calling your houses tonight.' like first of all, why he using the gov? that's dumb federal. and second, what the fuck you mean don't have a conversation? nigga you said turn and talk." notti explains, with amari nodding or adding a mhm from time to time.
"type shit. nigga called me amariana. the last time i was called amariana was on my birth certificate, no funny shit." amari says. her full name was amariana, but after her father left their family, her mother decided she would just be called amari because amariana was her father's choice. she hadn't been called that name in so long that she honestly forgot it was hers.
"nah wordddd that nigga dumb federal." notti says, agreeing with amari. they both shared a very obvious mutual hatred for mr.pierce and it was just the end of the first week of school.
"nigga your name is amariana?" ddot nearly shouts, genuinely shocked. "i dead ain't know that. nahhh mari that's crazy." he says, finding it humorous that her teacher called her by a name he didn't even know she had. she just sucks her teeth, lightly shoving his shoulder.
this was the constant dynamic of their friend group. the light banter and playful fighting. they enjoyed each other's company this way. when they could all get along and make jokes with each other. they found a sort of serenity in it.
when they reached their apartment complex, they all went their separate ways to their apartments. they all knew where notti and dd lived and they would all just make their way over there when they were ready.
amari pulled her keys out of the side pocket of her book bag and shoved the proper key into the lock, turning it and pushing her door open. she was met with a cold glare from her mother causing her to furrow her eyebrows. she wasn't sure what she had done wrong, but with the way her mother was looking at her there was obviously an issue.
