I walked down the hall with my boyfriend, his arm around my shoulder as he showed me some indie band I had no interest in. "They're coming to town next week; we can go see them together!" he said, and I smiled, "Yea, I would like that..." Kevin and I have been dating for 2 months now. I don't really remember how we started talking, nor how we actually became friends. All I know is that he asked me out and I said yes. To be honest, I think I only said yes because he is popular but Once we were official, I got a whole new friend group and a high social status And he is really nice. I smiled at him and looked away, my smile turning into a smirk as I noticed Dee rolling his eyes at me. 'Asshole,' I muttered, making him laugh. He shook his head and looked away. My attention returning back to Kevin who had taken his arm away from me. "I'll see you later," Kevin said, giving me a hug before running off with his friends, leaving me in the hall alone. I looked down, grabbing a strand of my hair. "He didn't even notice," I said, sighing before fixing my posture and walking to class.

(Small time jump <3)

I leaned back in my chair and yawned as the teacher explained some sort of math problem I already knew how to do. The feeling of my hair moving pulled me out of my thoughts. I turned
around, Dee and I now face to face. He let go of the strand, tilting his head as he smirked. " I would appreciate it if you kept your hair off of my desk," he whispered, tossing it to the side, "and I
would appreciate it if you stopped touching my hair." I snapped back. "You should have added some layers into it, (try passion twists)" he said examining my face, "what does that mean" You
got it done, didn't you? Next time, get some layers (you should get passion twist)." I stared blankly at him for a few seconds, not knowing what to say. "I'll be handing back last week's test,
but before I do, I just wanted to say, I am very disappointed" I turned back to the front, ignoring what Dee had said. "Only two of you passed this test. There are 15 kids in this class." He shook
his head before standing up. "If you want to make it up, you have to stay for lunch and 20 minutes before." He walked down the aisle handing back papers.

He smiled at me as he handed
me mine. I let out a small laugh, immediately turning to Dee who was behind me. I held up the paper, showing it off. A smirk grew on his face as he lifted up his. I grabbed the paper from him examining it. We both got 100%. The only difference is... He got five extra credit points, meaning he got a higher score than me. The sound of him chuckling filled my ears. He pulled on the sheet, which caused me to lean in closer to him. "Maybe next time," he said, taking the paper from my hands. "Whatever, I got the better score last time!" I replied turning back around.

Dee, the one person in this school who I hate, we can't stand each other, a competition to see who is the smartest, seems like a good way to keep each other motivated, huh?, no! this asshole walks around like he is better than everyone and it pisses me off, i remember exactly how we became rivals, i had just moved to this school and within a week I had passed him up, needless to say he didn't take it lightly, going on and on about how i was just lucky and that he was indeed smarter than me, "i can assure you it won't happen again" he said crossing his arms, "I'm sorry, can you repeat that, i wasn't listening." I said back faking a yawn which made his face turned bright red and he stormed off, and after that day, every single assignment and text turned into a competition.

"I should let you know the next test is in 2 weeks, so come prepared," the teacher said, a smile growing on my face. I grabbed my bag and walked out of the class. Kevin waiting for me
outside, "How was class?" he asked, wrapping his arm around me, "look" held up the test, his eyes lighting up, "wow, good job bae"(I hated writing that out 😭) he said, pulling me closer, making me laugh, "How about we go to eat?" I nodded and pulled out my phone. "How about wings?" I asked, looking up at him. "Anything you want" I turned away, my eyes meeting with dee's. His eyes widened and he quickly looked away. He seemed embarrassed for some reason, but I brushed it off and continued looking at the menu. "Hey Kevin!" We both looked up at Adam, running up to us. "You ready for practice tonight?" As if by instinct, Kevin looked at me, "shit I totally forgot." He covered his face with his hands, letting out an aggravated sigh. I smiled and stepped in front of him, "you should really go to practice. You have that game coming up." "I'll make it up to you, I promise."he said smiling at me I shook my head before speaking up, "don't worry about it, I'll talk to you later." and with that, I left. It seems like Kevin has been more distant lately, or well, too busy to go out on dates. It's not like it's a big deal, but every time we schedule something we always have to cancel. I just wish he could have some more free time.
