Chapter 18: Throw

Cale is tired. Aside from being tired of all the nonsense in his life, he's also exhausted right now, physically. Literally

They, he, the kittens, and the servants have been out and about both inside and outside the Henituse Mansion, looking for a particular glow-in-the-dark ball. They have already explored the already explored mansion, but it seems that they will need to do it for the third time

"Noona, what if it's his bedtime? He must have fallen asleep somewhere around here" Hong said in a worried tone, both he and his sister are being carried by Cale right now as they walk through the hallways of the Henituse Mansion

"That can't be. He just had his sleep a day ago, it will take at least 2 to 3 days for him to go to sleep again" Ohn explained as she tried to calculate Soo's pattern of sleeping

"Then, is there anywhere else that we haven't gone to yet?" Hong mumbled as he tried to think, with his hands on his chin. 

That's right. Ohn and Hong are in their human form. For the record, it was Cale's decision. Since he doesn't want the children to only stay in their cat forms all the time, he would tell them to change into their human forms whenever no one is around.

"Isn't it suffocating to be in only one form? You can change into a human if you feel uncomfortable"  is what the redhead human said to the two of them as he munched on a cookie, with Soo on his lap

"I don't think there's any place that we haven't seen. We've already looked everywhere!" Ohn exclaimed as she sighed with a pout. Cale, who had been pretty quiet through the whole 'a place where we haven't seen yet' talk, finally opened his mouth to share his insight

"There's still one" he said while stopping his tracks

"huh? But weren't you the one who said that we've already seen everything here in the manor?" Hong said with a questioning look

"yeah... I did say that" Cale said and turned around

"I'm not sure if he's there, but it wouldn't hurt to check" he continued. The kittens were puzzled as Cale didn't seem to be talking to them, but rather to himself

"Well, wherever we are going, I hope Soo is there" Ohn said which gained a nod from Hong

"I'm really tired now, let's have a nap once we manage to find Soo" Ohn replied with a light yawn coming out of his mouth, Hong then pat his older sister's hair while stopping the little yawn that was about to come out of his mouth

"I'm sure we'll find him soon" Hong said in a cheerful manner

"un" ohn nodded her head while trying not to close her eyes

"Someone please find me" Soo said as he sit down on the tiled floor in front of the door. He's currently sitting like how a stuffed toy would usually look when just laying or sitting around (note: you know, since stuffed toys usually don't have knees, their legs are straight when sitting, and arms on their chubby tummies)

He sighed as he waited for another set of minutes to pass while still sitting down like a teddy bear-- which he actually is one right now...

"... Do stuffed toys talk?" He asked himself as he touched his chin with his... arm... is that what you really call the handles thing sticking on his body? My goodness...

"Probably not. Stuffed toys don't have tounges" he said in an assuring way as he put his arms down and stood up. But as he was about to stand up, he heard the door opening which startled him and made him lose his balance and fall

And for the sake of 'not getting exorcised' by priests, he stayed still. He's just there, laying on the cold, hard, tiled floor while waiting for the person to walk inside

"hm? Did father come in here?" a familiar voice said 

Footsteps can be heard as the person slowly walked toward the bear on the floor and picked it up

"haa, he should've at least cleaned up before leaving" the redhead mumbled as he put the other redhead down to pick up the teddy bear that his mother liked so much

"Say Cale, who's room is this? We've never been here before" Hong, who was holding Cale by the hem of his shirt, asked while curiously looking around at the old-fashioned bedroom of the person that Cale cared so much about

"... It's my biological mother's room" Cale answered and started walking towards the place where the toy should have been while still holding the bear and the silver-haired sleeping lady in his arms

"Your moms' room? It's big! Although your room is also big, but not as big as this!" Hong exclaimed and started walking towards the places of the room he found interesting

"It's because she's the Countess of the territo-" Cale, who had a smile plastered on his face, couldn't finish what he was talking about when he felt a light tap on his arm.

At first, he thought that it was Ohn who just slightly moved due to being uncomfortable in his hold, but he noticed that Ohn was actually just slumped over his left shoulder and won't be able to tap his arm. And so his arm drifted to the toy in his hand

He stared at it for a good few seconds before hearing Hong's anxious voice

"hm? Cale? Is something wrong?" Hong asked as he ran towards their weak father figure despite still being young

"No, it's just..." 

He waited and had staring contest with the toy again before going back to talking to whatever they were talking about earlier

"As I was saying, my mother was the Countess before my Step-mother, so it will only be natural for her room to be big" Cale answered Hong's previous question and started lifting his arm up to put the stuffed toy on the shelf where it belonged, but no. He couldn't put it back on the shelf when he saw and felt the teddy's hurried tapping on his arm which made him widen his eyes and unresponsive for a good second. The tapping was fast like a madman, as if it was punching him to put it down. Which he did in a very... graceless way

And so he threw it away, as hard as he can and as far as he can.

He threw his mother's favorite toy away. The precious toy that he was taking care of since he was still a kid, ever since his mother passed away.

'WELL WHO WOULDN'T EVEN THROW A FREAKING POSSESSED STUFFED TOY ANYWAYS?!'
