We're now in the lab. I'm sitting on one of the counters, while Natasha is looking for the first aid-kit. Feeling all embarrassed! Now I'm just sitting here, bleeding, shirtless. This is not how I imagined meeting the heroes... "This will sting a bit." she warns me when she starts patting the clenser. Bitting my lip and try to look tough. After all, she's the Black Widow! "Pretty clean cut. Care to tell me how you got this?" she asks. "Uh... I get clumsy sometimes. Hah, hah." doing my best fake gentle laugh as possible. Clearly she doesn't buy it, but I come up with something else to talk about. So we start chatting and we're actually having great conversation. "It's nice to get some female company once in a while." she smiles shyly. "Yeah." I smile back. She's so nice!

Natasha keeps turning her head to see if there is something for me to wear, other than the bloody shirt. Then she sees there's one of Tony's shirts hanging on his seat and snatches it. It's a baby blue shirt that smells like him too. About to open my mouth and tell her maybe I shouldn't wear it, "The man got so many shirts. He wouldn't even notice it's his." she resures. "..Thank you." I smile shyly and put it on. Right after that, mr. Stark walks in with other man. "There you are. First task; get me and Dr. Banner some coffee." he carelessly says as he walks to his desk. "Oh, right away!" I nod. "No, you don't haveto..." Dr. Banner seems to get little bit uncomfortable by mr. Stark's order. "No worries! That's what I'm here for; making sure you got everything you need." giving him very warm smile with costumerservice like voice. Then I rush to the counter near by and start making them some coffee.

Natasha and Dr. Banner shares this look, like they would like to say something to each other but they won't. Then he sees the blooded shirt on the counter. "What happened?" he sounds worried. Oh shit. Natasha snatches it and starts heading out:"It's mine. Last mission was kind of rough.". "Y-you're alright?" his head follows the red head. She turns to look at him:"Yeah. Don't worry about me." there's little smile corner of her mouth. Some time after that I hand the duo their coffee. "Here you go." I smile. Dr. Banner reaches for the cup:"Thank you-", "(Y/N)." introdusing myself. "Bruce Banner." he gives shy smile. Wait... Is he..- Mr. Stark seems to notice pensive look on my face:"He's the green guy. Hulk. You know? Smashes everything he sees. You better not piss him off.". No way! Trying to fight the urge to drop my jaw to the floor.

He's so calm and all overly nice person. Hard to believe he's capable of turning something like that. "Don't worry. I bet you won't stress me out." Banner's voice goes small. I chuckle gently:"I try not to.". We share a smile. After that I start working. Writing down mr. Stark's notes, meetings ect. Hours goes by fast. My arm aches here and there, but I try to ignore it. Texting David when ever I can. He's pissed I didn't show up at his place last night. I feel like I'm a bad girlfriend. But what can I do? He can't see me bleeding all over the place. It would freak him out complitely! Last night keeps haunting me time to time. Focusing on work keeps my thoughts away from it. What bothers me is the empty gun too...

Around seven pm I get to go home. Insted of going home, I get to The Oak. There's not many costumers at this hour yet, just a few guys playing by the pool table. Sid sees me approach:"Hi kiddo. That sweet car you gave me drives like a dream.". Then he notices I'm not happy:"What is it this time?". "You tell me Shitty-Sid." I scoff and sit on the stool. Tiny smirk comes corner of his mouth:"Haven't heard that in a while...". That's the name me and my siblings gave him as angst teenagers. "Care to tell me why my gun didn't have any amo?" giving him a stern look. Sid sighs deep:"No young woman should be playing such things. That's called bad parenting.". "First of all, I'm an adult. Second, your 'convinient parenting' cost some blood." showing him the arm. For a couple of seconds he stares at it, then back at me:"Point proven."."No! No, if you wouldn't touch my stuff this would never happen!" I keep arguing. Even though that might be the reason I'm still alive, still hate the fact Sid touches my stuff. "I'm just worried about you little one." he confess. Little. My hair arm raises abit:"Don't-. Please don't say that.".

At the back area Sid checks up the wound. He used to be a doctor many years back, so he's kind of used to look at my wounds. "It's unsual for you to get a cuts like that." he says. Letting out a deep sigh and comb my hair back with free hand:"There was this man... He was no like other.". Sid looks at me unimpressed:"Mind you; you have a boyfriend.". "That's not what I meant!" I hiss back annoyed. He raises eyebrow. "It was weird. The guy was strong and really fast." I keep remembering. "Maybe you've gone slower." he shrugs his shoulders. "...And he had a metal arm?" shaking my head in disbelieve how stupid I must sound. Immediately Sid lifts his eyes on me, there is slight worry in them. "Sounds weird, I know." rolling my eyes and put the shirt back on. "Don't tell me you ran into Winter Soldier?" his voice got low. "Who?" I raise an eyebrow. Winter Soldier? "..No, it's impossible. No one has seen him up close and got out a live." he shook his head and continues working. "What on earth you're talking about?" I laugh and follow him to the bar area. "He's part of the HYDRA." he whispers. Huh?

HYDRA. An authoritarian-subversive paramilitary terrorist organization bent on world domination. Over the years my family had hunt some of their men here and there. Got pretty great money out of them. One gig even payed our whole family trip to Hawaii many years back... "-N)." Sid's voice brings me back:"Huh?". "How much did he see you? Did he get a good look at you?" he asks. "I... I'm not sure. His eyes looked pretty dead to me." trying to light up the mood, but Sid won't even crack a smile. This must be serious then. "Hope he didn't see much... Whoever they send him after, never came back." the last part he says as quiet as possible. My head shoots up to look at the old friend. There it is again. The fear. "..C'mon Sid. Enough of the spooky stories." my voice cracks a bit. "Ah, but I might be wrong. After all, he's a ghost story." he chuckles. Shitty-Sid indeed. We chat a bit more and I walk out of there. It's windy and pretty cold outside. Corner of my eye I see the same motorcycle that was parked at the building where Sitwell works in.

BOOOMM-!!! The bar behind me exploses:"AH-!" and I fly few meters, landing on my stomach and hit my head to the ground. Immediately it starts to bleed. What the hell?!?! Quickly I raise my head up to see what the hell just happened. "SID!!!" I yell and get up as fast as I can, faltering a little. The whole building is burning, but that doesn't stop me for running in to look for him. Tears of panic raises on my eyes as I look for him. Finally I found him and drag him out of there to safety. Luckly it won't take too long for the firefighters and medic to show up. At the hospital, I sit in the waiting room among other people. One of the nurses has put a band-aid on my forehead. My hands are shaking out of fear, wondering if Sid is okay. "(Y/N)?" gentle voice calls. My head shoots up, thinking it's the nurse to tell me the news. "N-Natasha..!" I gasp surprised. She sees the band-aid and frowns:"What happened?" and sits right next to me. "Ah... It's just..-" can't come up with anything. My head is all empty. Didn't even think anyone I would know would show up. "..What are you doing in here?" Steve sounds so surprised. What are these two doing in here?!

Both of them stares at me, worried but also very interested what I haveto say. Before I could babble something random, one of the nurses comes to us:"Miss (Y/L)?". I shoot up from my seat to stand:"Yes?!". Fighting against some tears, ready to hear how is he. "Mister Brown is awake. He would like to see you." the nurse gives a tiny smile. My heart skips a beat and I let out a relief sigh. "Talk to you later." is all I could say to the duo before I went after the nurse. Leaving them to stare after me confused. I need to come up with good explanation for tomorrow. But now... I need to see my friend is alright. Slowly opening the door to the room Sid is in and walk in. Part of his face is all bruises, cuts and burned. Those brown eyes looks into mine, gentle smile raising corner of his mouth thru pain:"Hey kiddo...". That sent the tears falling down my cheeks. "Oh, c'mon... I am not that bad looking." he chuckles, but I can see smiling hurts him. Standing next to the bed he is laying, my hands starts to shake. "I'm so sorry..." I sobb. "What for? It wasn't your fault." he says.

The memory of the motorcycle pops in my head. Rubbing the tears away:"What if it was?". Sid frowns confused. "What if... It was him?" I sniff. "Who?" he asks. "The... Winter thing- knight..- or what ever you said." waving my hand while explaining and sit down on a chair next to the bed. Sid eyes gets more wide:"The Winter Soldier?". Slowly collecting my thoughts:"Maybe he tried to kill me and didn't succeed... So that means..-", "That he's coming after you." he continued for me. My head snaps right back to him after he said that. Trying my best not to show him how the fear is increasing inside me.
