Well today was the day. I was not expecting it to come so fast. I mean it isn't every day that your father gets a million-dollar job. Even though he just got the call today he had bought the warehouse building at the auction and actually won it, we were already packed and headed out the door. New York was definetly different than Seattle.
When flying in a plane you can see the ground like a dollhouse. It makes it look like you could pick something up and move it around. In Seattle the building were fairly large. When we got on the plane they looked tiny. When we had reached NY, the buildings from the plane were the same height as in Seattle from up close. It was a marvelous city.
The streets were busy and alive. The parks were occupied by children and adults walking their dogs. The summer air was windy but warm. One of those days where it's all perfect. The was beating down and my face warmed through the taxi window as we drove down the Avenue. People were bustling everywhere and it was truly beautiful. I could not wait to live here.
My mother had said that I would be attending a private school for the Upper East Side teens. I never thought I would be attending such efficiency. It's like i was royal! Leaving my old school wasnt at all hard. I had no friends for one, plus I was doing terrible there. Going to Yancy Academy was going to be a fresh start for myself. A clean slate.
When we pulled up to our Penthouse Building and got out i could not stop smiling. The smell of food and people talking filled the air. A bellboy greeted us and took our bags onto a rack on wheels, then he led us to our new home of dreams.
