Note from the writer: Trying something a little different with this short story. With this being my first ever fan-fiction based on a television show, I would like to point out that I do not own any of the following characters. Also, just a friendly reminder, all characters in this story are 18 years of age or older.

After an eventful afternoon, everyone in the town of Coolsville watched as the police and news reporters swarmed around the space center. What was a week-long mystery, ended up being solved by none other than Scooby and the gang.

As the crowd of people began flashing their cameras, the chief officer walked inside the building accompanied by two other officers. Being able to trick the monster into a dead-end room, the sleuths at Mystery, Inc. were able to trap the one responsible for the disturbances. Once the two officers handcuffed the perpetrator, Scooby and the gang circled around them along with the chief officer and Gwen, an astronomer at the Coolsville Space Center.

"I must say, you have not lost your touch." greeted the chief officer. "Good to see you guys still got it after all these years."

"Thanks! It was actually difficult at first until Velma here figured out who the culprit was." Fred responded. "We then knew a way to trick him into a locked room until the police showed up."

"Oh really? Who was it?"

With everyone looking at Velma, she adjusted her glasses and walked towards the offender. "You see, officer, the person responsible is none other than the new owner of the space station..."

She then grabbed the mask and pulled down to reveal his face.

"Alan Bowman!" She announced.

"Mr. Bowman?! How did you know it was him?" asked the chief officer.

"We have Gwen to thank for that." Velma continued, gesturing towards her. "You see, last week there was a comet that flew over and crashed into the outskirts of Coolsville. I remember reading a news article about the generous donation the space station received to collect and study the crash site of the comet. When Gwen showed me the financial statements from the bank, not only was the deposited amount drastically different, but there were also millions of dollars taken out and no record of what it was spent on. Since then, the space center has had visitors come by after hours, trying to find out what they had discovered. Alan reported to the press that it was only chunks of space rock but that wasn't convincing them. He would then put together this spooky costume to scare people away...indicating that Alan was hiding something."

"Oh that is good detective work right there!" Exclaimed the chief officer, "But why did he do it?"

"Although I do not support his actions, there's a very logical explanation for all this." Velma said as she lifted her index finger. "You see, when Alan first bought the Coolsville Space Center from Mr. Sinclair, there was a lot of much needed repairs. For years, Alan had frequently asked for donations and every time, the amount he received was much less than what he wanted. Since the space center recently got a ton of money to investigate the crash site, he made sure to pocket some cash for himself."

"And judging by the looks of the place, it's apparently obvious that none of that money was put into any upgrades or renovations." added Daphne.

"Like totally!" commented Shaggy as he gestured at a broken down rocket ship. "I mean, look at the Super Nova Rocket. It was the coolest rocket ever growing up. Now it's just rusting away."

The chief officer then glared at Alan who was in handcuffs. He walked up closer to him and proceeded to interrogate any information out of him.

"I must say, I am disappointed in you Alan. Millions of dollars without any trace. Where exactly are you hiding the money!?"
