I had been on the island with everyone for some time now and no murders have occurred. I sat with Peko, Fuyuhiko Ibuki, Sonia and Kazuichi at the table while everyone else did their own thing. Peko and Fuyuhiko were talking while Sonia did Ibuki's nails and Kazuichi stared at her with a star struck expression. He never did stop liking Sonia heh.
As I read my book, a loud slam dragged all our attention to the door, and there stood Gundham with his dramatic pose. "Mere mortals! I've arrived to provide a significant endowment !" Gundham speaks loudly while pointing at..me?!?
Fuyuhiko and Peko exchanged glanced with a laid back smirk on their faces while Sonia and Kazuichi looked at Gundham with curiosity, Ibuki was more excited then Gundham was to actually be the one giving the gift. As Gundham made his way over to me I felt Fuyuhiko flick my hip in order to get my attention and I immediately turned to him as red as a tomato as he gave me a knowing smirk. As I returned my gaze to Gundham, he stood before me now..looking a bit shy as I found him hiding his face in his scarf to cover his blush as his devas of destruction held out a small box.
"It is not exceptionally remarkable..the wool provided at the nearby traders den, the colour reminded me of you." Gundham explained while avoiding eye contact, it was clear he wasn't expecting an audience since everyone besides us knew our huge crush on one and other. Of course it was all Peko's ides to set him up in such a humiliating position.
As I opened the box I found a small lavender coloured scarf, which resembled Gundham's and his scarfs fabric. Gundham made this for me.? I felt my face redden up as I found it difficult to find my own words to thank him, a simple thank you felt bland since it was such a personal gift but due to my nervousness and feelings everyone's eyes burn a hole in the back of my head, all that came out was..
" you thank didnt Gundham-" was all that came out which was a mix of "gundham you didn't have to!" And "thank you gundham", but of course it was sheer gibberish as I immediately wrapped the soft scarf around my neck to hide my own blushing face. Gundham didn't care too much for my words as he looked at me with an admiring gaze. "The colour truly makes you much more appealing then the devious fiend you were previously.." he says as a way to compliment me and to make things worse, Fuyuhiko grew quickly frustrated with the tension between us.
"Jesus Christ will you two just fuck already." He said with an annoyed tone before Peko gave him a menacing glare which made Fuyuhiko lay back with his hands behind his hand indicating to Peko he'd shut up now.
Both Gundham and I were hiding in our scarves now completely silence as Kazuichi stood up nervously and took Gundhams arm leading him out the door "c-come on dude-! Let's go feed your hamsters!" He said with an awkward grin as Gundham's loud voice shouted out. "The devas are destruction are much more then what you fiends call a hamster!", and just like that they are gone.
I felt Sonia pat my head. "Mattea that scarf is a beautiful colour on you! Do ignore Fuyuhikos comments we all know how short tempered he is!" She says reassuringly as I let my face drop against the table humiliated. Ibuki was quiet for once until I finally looked at her. She was staring curiously and excited, "yo yo yo! Gundy sure knows how to knit! If he keeps it up I could almost guess he's got a crush on you!" She boasts proudfully as if she's solved the mystery to why Gundham brings me presents. Peko and Fuyuhiko gave her a rather..disappointing look.
After everyone dispersed, I walked back to my dormitory with Fuyuhiko, still wearing Gundham's gift, "tch, you look real fucking stupid in that scarf ya know" he said as a way to break the silence and I nudged him with my elbow and he didn't hesitate to nudge me back with much more force knocking me down "ack-! Fuyuhiko-!" I said angrily as I glared up at him and all he did was have his hands on his hips looking down at me like I'm a dirty insect. "Jeez, you really are hopeless." He says before offering me a hand up, watching me as I dusted myself off. "Yah well I would be much more calm if you didn't say that to Gundham and I" I grumbled angrily with a small blush on my face.
"Well that animal fucker needs to make a move or else he'll find you swapping spit with that dumbass mechanic" he says with a smirk. "Firstly, we all know Kazuichi is head over heels for Sonia. Secondly, I'm not interested in him, I like Gundham." I say to him as we both stood outside my cottage. "Well you'll never fucking know if you two don't stop pussy footing around each other" he says before stepping aside clearly making it known he's about to leave, but as he steps aside, what's revealed is Gundham's not too far away behind him, I couldn't even hide the surprised expression on my face, Fuyuhiko catches on and turns around and meets Gundham's eye before raising a brow curiously. "Well, I won't be a cock block any longer, but before I go, you two better keep it the fuck down or I'll break in and kill both you fucking perverts!" He says angrily before departing leaving me in a rather annoyed and flustered state.
Gundham's approaches me with his normal expression, clearly recovered from this morning. "You are..still wearing it?" He asks curiously with his typical softer tone he wears when with me. "Well, it's been a rather chilly day and..I couldn't just not wear a gift THE Gundham Tanaka made for a mere fiend like me." I said with a playful chuckle, he clearly enjoyed it as he smiled at me and my word choice. "I've brought you medicine." He says as he hands you a small vial of..whatever substance. "Medicine? What for? Gundham I'm not sick" I say before Gundham looks away as if he about to monologue. "My skin is poison, once you come into contact with me, you are bound to suffer an undefinable death" he says in what actually sounds convinced. "Gundham, you are not poisonous." I say before reluctantly reaching to hold his none bandaged hand, his free hand, which clearly caught him off guard as he brushed me off rather quickly in a panic "do not touch me you foolish human! I'm not so cruel to let you commit such a trivial act such as suicide!" He declares before hiding his blush in his scarf and turning away. "Gundham. I wore the scarf all day, and you say that it'd cause me severe pain and suffering to come in contact with you but..I've only felt warm and fuzzy ever since I've been given this gift by you." I try to comfort him but he doesn't budge. "Fool. You'll never understand the pain I've had to endure..that woman, I'm the offspring of an angel and a devil, she'd wail if I did not finish her meals, despite it being..incredibly sour. What choice did I have then to suffer in silence?" He asks me with a lecturing tone. It was..actually really kind. He clearly didn't like his moms cooking but still endured it for her sake.
"I wanna..be the one to touch you Gundham. I wanna touch you without you being scared that I'll die." I say honestly not even realizing how that could have sounded to Gundham or anyone else but fortunately he looked past it and looked at me with an endeared expression. "That scarf..it was created by the walking cataclysm, a shapeless insanity, Gundham Tanaka! Now as if I'd ever let you get ahead of yourself. You are nothing but a simple creature, you have no power." He said coldly which..kind hurt. I couldn't help but look away a tad humiliated and offended that I was nothing but "simple" in his eyes. He wasn't finished though. His cold tone was quickly replaced with what sounded like sincerity and softness. "However..this prized possession can lend you my powers, and as long as you yearn for them, the contract will be complete and that pain and suffering you were once to meet. It'll be extinguished." He continues before turning my solemn expression to him, gently cupping my cheek as he gazed into my eyes.
"I will not allow you to die without my permission Mattea." He said finally before released my cheek and turning to leave. The way he said my name caused butterflies to stir in my stomach. I saw a more confident Gundham just now. I felt..happy. I couldn't help but smile stupidly as i wobbled into my cottage with a love struck smile.
Gundham returned to his own cottage, and as soon as the door closed behind him. He stayed quiet for just a moment.
"AHAHAHAHAHHA!!" He cackled loudly and proudly. He dramatically fell to the floor with a blushing face and held his elbow to support the strength in his one arm grasping the hard wood floor. He had pride in his eye. "I've seduced the queen my devas of destruction!" He exclaimed happily before laying on the floor to cuddle his hamsters as they praised Gundham in their little hamster language.
Bonus:
Ibuki was pressed against Fuyuhikos shoulder basically crushing him in order to spy over the bush as to watch Gundham and Mattea talk. "Oh oh oh! Are they gonna kiss! You think they are!? Ohhhhh look at them!" Ibuki exclaimed louder then necessary as Fuyuhiko took his strength back and covered her yapping mouth. "Tch do you ever shut the fuck up you ditzy dumbass" he says basically forced her mouth shut. Peko and Sonia sat quietly watching Gundham and Mattea as Fuyuhiko in the background exclaimed in a disgusted tone and pressed his now drool covered palm into Ibuki's smug face into the ground
"disgusting Bitch-! Did you just lick me!" "Well duh! Also your hands are like, really clammy, you should get that fixed!" She exclaimed cockily now avoiding Fuyuhikos attacks as he got up and chased her down "say that again you bitch!"
Meanwhile Sonia and Peko stayed silent and watched Gundham wish Mattea a good night.
