What people didn't see was that
She could have been free but the
Concrete didn't budge and she
Forgot to spread her wings
What people didn't get was that
When she jumped she meant to soar
But doubt slipped in to scream and roar
And she forgot to spread to her wings
That is why she didn't fly
Otherwise she would of made it
That, I know for sure
She had finally found escape
After forever looking for
She hadn't made a big fuss
Didn't want the attention
Even if she had
The ones who mattered
They never knew
They hadn't seen the news
But they wouldn't have realized
But I will still remember
I won't make the same mistake
Concrete is solid
And wings cannot support you
Unless you spread them out
I will always remember
Why she didn't fly
