The fire crackled and sparked. It was right in front of me, staring me down. I knew I had to do this. It's the only way to make the torment stop. "Do something already," I sighed, I knew what I had to do. I really didn't want it to come down to this. "Or perhaps, you want the flames?" The unwanted voice in my head asked, annoyed. I don't even want to do this. I mustered up the smallest bits of courage to speak, tears forming in my eyes. "I-I'll do i-it." I began to feel lightheaded. Every step I took sent me staggering forward. "Hurry up. Now." the voice threatened. My face turned red, and I closed my eyes. Tears streamed from the corners of my eye and I felt very dizzy. I don't even know what's going on anymore, I don't have a single thought. "W-What the hell are you crying for?" She looked like she knew what was going to happen. I hesitated to complete what I had to do. "STOP IT!" She turned away from me, but before she could leave I grabbed her right arm tightly. Nearly digging into her red silky fur with my worn-out claws. "I-I'm sorry. " I could barely say anything with how much I was crying. I'll never forget those words I said. She doesn't understand what will happen and I can't make it up to her with two measly words. But I can't stop now. I already brought her here. I forcefully pushed her towards the fire, looking away from the bright, shimmering flames. A black mist crawled out of my ear and latched onto the fire. It felt like air tugging at my ear. Everything happened so quickly, all I saw was the horrified look on her face. I can't forget it, it's burned into my memory. I could only remember her bloodcurdling scream and the black misty tentacles pulling her towards the fire. "Thank you for your sacrifice." The void-like entity whispered. And everything was gone, just like that. The fire, Red, that creature. I felt different, stronger, but also terrified. Terrified of what I've done, it haunts me and torments me like I've been cursed. Everything that just happened. Why? Why'd I do it? How do I still manage to keep on going? I lied there, contemplating what've happened.

That was all I remember from the event. I can't stop thinking about it. Every time I try to focus on something else, my mind scurries towards that event. I can only try to distract myself to be free, but distractions don't last forever. "Why are you guys avoiding me! I'M NOT EVEN DOING ANYTHING!" A black cat screeched. He seemed to be furious at two other animals. They quickly ran away from him, disgusted by even being near him. Wait, I know him. He's the kid that everyone avoids. People think that he gives off bad luck so they tend to avoid him. Maybe I could use him to ward off other people. Everyone's already scared of me ever since the event, but still. It's better if they just run off immediately instead of hearing their threatened voices pleading for mercy every time I'm near them. I step closer to the cat. "What? What do you want? I'm not afraid of you!" He hissed. He was still angry after people ran away from him.
