Finally, you finish packing all of your bags. 'I'm finally about to be out of this shit hole', you think to yourself. You wait to hear your mother close her bedroom door. You wait a few minutes for her to fall asleep, then you start to write your note. "Mother, please do not come looking for me, you won't find me. I hate you. I never want to to see you again. Goodbye."
You put the note in somewhere that she'd be able to find it, but not in plain sight. After you finish writing, You go to your sisters door, Faith, and say goodbye to her.
You knock on her door quietly and wait for her to open it. Looking tired, she still knew what was about to happen. "Faith.." You try to say without crying. "I love you, please remember that. I'll see you again, okay? And i'll be back.." You hug her.
"Kamryn, Please. You don't have to leave today..or at least let me come with you, I don't want to stay here without you," she says, with tears in her eyes. You pull away from the hug and kiss her on the cheek.
"You know I can't take you with me, it's already dangerous that i'm going by myself. Imagine it being a thirteen year old with me..It just wouldn't work Faith." you try to explain to her. She hugs you again, saying, "Okay, we'll bye Kammy. I love you forever, okay? Don't forget about me."
"I could never forget about you. I love you too, goodbye." You say, hugging her one last time.
She closes her bedroom door, even though you can hear her start to cry. You start to walk downstairs, making the smallest amount of noise that you can. Once you make it downstairs, you tip-toe over to the kitchen and shove as much food as you could into your bag.
After the food, you grab a bunch of water bottles. You walk to the back door and slowly unlock it. Before you leave, you grab an umbrella because it's raining outside. You walk outside and open up the umbrella.
You run to the nearest bus stop, not even knowing where it would take you.
After about 10 minutes, you see the bus from a far. You start to second think everything. 'Am I really about to leave Faith with my mom..? God, maybe this was a bad idea, what was I thinking..' You finally snap out of it and see the bus stop right in front of you.
You step on the bus, looking back for a second, but then forgetting all of the regrets you might have.
You find yourself a seat, next to this tall-ish boy who looked about your age.
You sit in silence next to him, until you get your headphones out and listen to some music. You go to your favorite playlist and Childish Gambino starts playing.
You start quietly humming the lyrics to "Stand Tall", when the boy taps on your shoulder.
You turn your head to look at him, then you notice how pretty his eyes look. "Hey uhm..what song are you listening too?" He asks, shyly. You giggle and tell him. "I'm listening to 'Stand tall' by Childish Gambino." He smiles at you. You start to feel little butterflies in your stomach when he starts up a conversation with you.
"So where you heading to?" He asks. "Honestly, I don't know. I'll go anywhere. But probably my dad's place." You put your headphones around your neck.
