AN:

This one shot is a spin-off of the main story "Three Steps to Win You" which I decided to turn into a series because I love playing with all the characters in KPTS.

In chapter 9 of the main story, in the conversation between Tankhun, Kinn and Porsche, Kinn mentions the issue of the first meeting between him and Porsche.

This is the story.

You don't have to read the main story to understand this one shot, nevertheless I hope you will give it a chance. Thank you! <3

The First Meeting

"Welcome to the Moonlight," said Marsh excitedly as he walked into the club. "This is one of my favorite places to hang out. We'll be safe here."

From the tone of his voice, Kinn could tell how much the young actor liked this little jazz club. The place wasn't too big, from a glance, Kinn counted there were only a maximum of 10 tall small round tables, which were arranged far from each other. At each table there were a maximum of 3 high bar stools, but on most of the tables there were only two stools. Truthfully, there was still enough space for 2 or even 3 more tables, if the table arrangement was made more tightly, but it seems that the club owner prefers convenience over profit.

Stop being a businessman for one night, Kinn!

In front of these tables, there was a fairly long low stage, which on top was full of musical instruments, baby grand piano, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, contra-bass, and a saxophone.

Marsh chose a table in the middle and closest to the bar for them, which he deemed the best table in the club, for you can see the stage clearly and can easily attract the attention of the bartender to order drinks. Kinn immediately sat down at the table chosen by Marsh without protest. After all, this is his first time here.

"I really like the jazz band that will be performing tonight. Their music is very soothing and not noisy at all, so we can still talk and get to know each other," Marsh said as he placed his hand on Kinn's right hand which was on the table and smiled sweetly at him.

Out of courtesy, Kinn decided not to withdraw his hand, even though he wasn't the type who liked being touched by someone he didn't know very well. Us, his best friend since middle school, had given him a warning when he set up this blind date tonight.

"Marsh is a sweetheart, but he's a bit affectionate. Just bear it and give it a try, okay Kinn? Life is more than work and profit."

How many times had he heard the same words in different variations and from different people? His friends, his older brother, Tankhun, his Pa, and even his youngest brother, Kim, who just graduated from high school, as if he fully understands the meaning of that word, workaholic.

A workaholic (ridiculous!), Kinn never felt like he was one, but that was the word everyone around him always used to intrude on his life, which he personally thought was already perfect. Well, not perfect, per se , but surely everyone understood. He does a job that he loves, and if he needed a break or something to release the tension, his cellphone was full of contact numbers of people like him that he can call to... let's just say scratch each other itch, no string attached. But everyone was worried, hence here he is now, on a blind date.

"You don't talk too much, do you?" asked Marsh.

Did he hear a hint of irritation from his date? Maybe without him realizing it, he was acting indifferent. Well, it's been a while since the last time he dated. Kinn felt a little uneasy, and tried to lighten the mood by smiling.
