Amerio smiled a bit when they heard the nickname.

"HA SEE YOUR AWAKE" their twin sister shouted, causing Amer to jump up at the loud noise. 'FOR FUCKS SAKE NOARIA FAIYA VITTIO" Amer shouted at laughing girl, saying her full name. 'CALM DOWN AMEriotis HARLey VitTio' Noa answered in between wheezes of laughter. Amerio got up and playfully kicked their laughing sister and walked out of their shared room, on their way to the kitchen they heard Noa shout after them; "I ALREADY HELPED GRANDPA WITH BREAKFAST, YOU GOTTA DO THE DISHES".

Noa and Amer lived on a farm with their grandpa Peter; 10 years ago, their parents died, they were only 4 at that time. Then, 3 years ago their 2 uncles went to jail for murdering their aunt Daisy and baby cousins, and about a year ago their grandma died of cancer. The twins and their grandpa were the last Vittio's standing. They have a peaceful life; they go to the local school and help their grandfather on the farm.

Everything was good, until one day; April 10th. As soon as the twins were ready for school, they got their bikes from the garage. It was quite cold, because it was still spring. They double checked their bags and said goodbye to Grandpa.

"Soooooo, have you studied for the test yet?" Noa asked her twin tiredly. "Nope, was busy doing more important stuff." "like what?" "programming" "of course you were programming" Noa said playfully. When they reached the village, Noa's bicycle tire was cut by a sharp piece of glass.

They still had about 20 minutes to get to their school, so Amer tried their best to fix the tire. Meanwhile, Noa started wandering around out of boredom, eventually sitting peacefully at the side of the town river, close to the forest, looking at the fishes.

It was still early so there weren't a lot of people. Suddenly, a hand covered her mouth and another hand grabbed her arm tightly. She tried to shout and scream for help, but her calls were muffled by the hand. Something hard and cold hit her head, and then all she saw and felt was a cold darkness.

Back in the village, Amer was almost with their sister's bike. They heard someone sneak around, guessing it was Noa, they sighed and said; "Noa I know it's you, I can hear you" they turned around, just in time to see a shadow disappear behind the trees. "Now I got you,' Amerio whispered to themselves, following the shadow to scare their sister. Going deeper and deeper into the haunted forest; the legend says, "When you get too close, you will meet darkness and lose your place in the world." Amerio has heard the legend but has no idea what it meant and if it's even real. They did know that there were some people who had gone into the forest and never returned. "Noa, come out, we're going to be late!" Amerio said, now getting a bit scared. What if the stories were true? What if it was haunted? What if Noa was caught.

Al of the sudden, Amer was on the ground, blood dripping over their forehead from where the bat hit them. They got up as fast as they could, but not fast enough. The bat struck again, this time in their stomach. Amerio looked up just in time to see the masked man getting ready to strike the final hit. Ameriotis prepared their self for death. Isn't it too fast? They thought to themselves. And then darkness came, cold, quiet, darkness.
