Hello, my name is Luis and I have a story to tell, I'm writing about this and putting it out because I think it'll give me some closure to what happened.  So, without further a due, let's get started.  I used to work at a park, people would go camping and have fires, so it was my job to watch out for fires that weren't campfires, for example, wildfires, arson on buildings, etc. it was my job to make sure those fires were seen and reported. Now going into this I was very new to the job, and I had just moved in with my girlfriend, sadly when I got this job it meant I had to move up to the watch tower (I looked out for the fires inside of a watch tower). I drove up to the park and parked my minivan, the place was very dirty all around. the leaves were un-evenly organized. The trees looked like they hadn't been trimmed in years, and there were 2 small shack-like houses.

I went to knock on one of the doors, a man with a pistol walked out and was about to pistol whip me but I moved out of the way. "Who the hell are you knocking on my door at this hour!" He had a very southern accent, it was about 12 am, so I understood why he'd ask such a question.  "I'm the new ranger sir! I'm supposed to look out for fires?" I had responded very startled from his attempt to attack me.  "Oh, what's your name."  The man had asked me. "Luis, what about you man." I remember myself being very weirded out by the fellow. "My name is Ja, let me just check your information out really quick." The man got on his computer and searched me up. "Alright I found ya, Tower 13. Hurry up now!" The man gave me a pistol and opened up the gate and sent me on my way. Good thing I came prepared with my flashlight and pepper spray. "Hey!! Be careful now! there's a lot of animals that could easily end your life out there! May god bless you with an easy walk!"

Ja yelled before going back inside the shack-like building.  The walk was relatively safe, I easily got there but I did think I heard an animal or two. As I got to the tower, I climbed the creaky steps and got to the top of the watch tower. I forgot to mention I had a backpack filled with my clothes and another bag filled with some food. I expected the door to be locked as I did get a key mailed to me before I started the job, but it was unlocked. I opened the door and walked in. The place was very small, the bed wasn't made, there was a microwave on the floor and there were clothes everywhere.

"Wow, I thought it'd be cleaner."  I found myself talking to myself a lot more as time went by.

I put my bags down and the other things I had in my hands down on the bed. There was a radio station on my desk, I sat down and turned it on. "This is tower 13 is anyone there?" *STATIC* *STATIC* *STATIC* "I hear you loud and clear, this is tower 14." Someone had responded to me; I had instantly responded with "hello there! I'm new here and I hope to get a lot done.". "Listen here newbie, you only turn on the radio for a report, not some dumb small talk." *STATIC* *STATIC* *STATIC* "Next time make sure you only come on the radio if you're reporting something or a lost hiker comes on the damn radio, understand?!"

The man seemed to be going through something, or he was just mad. "I read you loud and clear sir, over and out." I turned off the radio and shouted out, "WHAT AN ASSHOLE!"  I sat on my bed and moved the bags off of it. I didn't have the energy to put the food in the cooler that they provided, the fridge didn't look like it worked. I got up and attempted to lock the door, but the lock was broken so I just barricaded it just in case something happened.  I got in the uncomfortable bed and slowly drifted to sleep with the lights on.
