After lunch Olive asked both you and Miss Peregrine to meet her in the parlor. You both waited in there for her. But after Emma's comment about being free after lunch, you should've expected what came next. The doors slammed shut and locked from the outside. You both jumped up though Alma didn't run to the door as you did. You knocked on it to no avail.
"Don't worry too much. They have to let us out eventually. And they knows they should do so sooner rather than later or their punishment will be worse." You sighed and walked over to one of the three couches in the room then face planting on it. "Are you alright, darling?" You only groaned in response, not bothering to look up. You heard her chuckle and walk over, then felt part of the couch sink beside you. Now you did look up, but only spared her a glance before looking down again. She had removed her jacket and now was neatly folding it and setting it aside on the coffee table. She then removed her heels before laying down beside you.
Alma wrapped her arms around your waist, pulling you closer to her before relaxing against you, closing her eyes. You looked at her for a moment, admiring her while she's relaxed. "You're getting comfy?"
She hummed, smiling to herself. "We have approximately two hours, seventeen minutes, and two seconds before the children free us. Why not get comfortable?" You smiled as well, closing your eyes. Maybe it was because you were mostly asleep, or maybe you were going crazy but you could've sworn Alma kissed your forehead and whispered. "Sleep well, darling." Before you drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

You awoke to Alma shaking you awake. "You need to get up, love." You hummed and batted her hand away. "Darling, wake up." You didn't respond. "Y/n, please?" Again, you gave her no response. But your eyes shot open when you felt lips on your cheek. "Finally." Alma said with a sigh. She held her hand out to you and you took it and she helped you up. You looked at her shocked for a moment and she laughed at your expression. "What? Something wrong?"
"What in the world was that?"
"Whatever do you mean, darling?" Alma said with a grin. Her hand lifted to cup one of your cheeks and you subconsciously leaned into the touch. "Oh, I see. You're talking about this?" She said before leaning in and kissing your forehead, pulling away again not a second later. She laughed again at your face, your jaw had dropped and your face was practically burning red.
Alma brushed it off easily, you not so much. She went about putting on her coat and heels. "You know." She said, brushing her hands over her jacket to smooth it. "We could have very well just left out a window and walked around to a door."
You felt like an idiot. "How did we not figure that out earlier?" You said, more to yourself than anyone.
"Oh no, I realized no more than a minute after my children locked us in here."
You looked up at her with a small glare. "And you didn't say anything sooner? Who knows what they've done out there!"
She looked at you, almost offended. "Forgive me for wanting to spend time with you. And they wouldn't have done anything too bad. They know the consciences."
And of course, now you felt bad. You sighed and took a step closer to her, taking her into your arms. "Sorry, Alma." You were going to say more but weren't quite sure what. 'Sorry I don't understand my own feelings'? 'Sorry you're unintentionally driving me insane'? Neither of those would work.
"It's alright, don't apologize." She briskly returned the hug before pulling away from you again and going to stand near the door, taking out her pocket watch with a flick of her wrist. She began muttering to herself. "Three... two..." She put her watch away and looked expectantly at the door. Just as she did so, it opened.
"Hey Miss P, Miss G. What's up?" Said Emma, who was no doubt the mastermind behind this entire plan.
"Extra chores for a week Miss Bloom. I need to fetch something from my room, then I'll begin to prepare dinner." Miss Peregrine said simply before walking off towards the stairs. You and Emma shared a look before she gestured for you to follow her. You did just that and you both ended up following Alma. When she went into her room Emma gestured for you to stand still and quiet for a moment before pushing you into the room right as her headmistress yelled. "Miss Bloom! Why are there rose petals on my bed?!"
"Hey! I thought Miss Grandala's rose petal idea was nice!" She poked her head in, pining the blame on you before disappearing again.
Alma gave you a confused look, a slight pink in her cheeks. "That was not at all my idea. Your ward is a liar." You said simply before leaving the room again and rushing away to tell Emma off for trying to leave you in that situation.
