You say you're not coming back.
I know you haven't the strength.
Remember the day you walked out in the rain?
You swore I'd never see you again
See you again
A wrenched confession from you own lips:
You need me, you, with your glaze of ice.
Like a day of sunshine deep in your mind,
Wherever you go, I am there with you--
I am there inside.
Though strong, you needn't be alone.
Remember the days before I came?
We were both chilled, but fought the snow.
Be still and let the spring seep in,
Let it seep back in your skin.
If you turn to shun the light
And persist gravely you won't give in,
Then you needn't talk of strength or gain.
I won't be torn by your duty or pride.
I will see the sun again.
You say you're not coming back.
You claim you can fight this pain.
What happens when I confess,
When I call your name?
Watch the sun sweep high and fall,
The moon in darkness take the strain.
Without you here, beside me now,
I could never be the same
Never be the same
