It was a Sunday morning and Day went to buy flowers from the usual flower shop. He has been buying flowers from this shop run by an old lady, for about an year now. Basically just after he started going to the music school.
Day called out for the florist and the lady didn't show up this time. To his surprise, it was Max who was there at the shop.
Max: What are you doing here?
Day: I buy flowers from here every now and then. It is me who should ask you this question. Ain't it?
Max: It's my grandma's shop. She went to meet her friends, so I am here!
Day: Man! You work a lot!
Max: I mean I have to. I can't just do nothing and get all the things I want like some people.
Day: What do you mean by some people? Are you trying to mean that I am one of those...
Max: Yeah basically! I meant people like you! Rich...
Day: I ain't rich.
Max (fake coughed and said): Oh! Really? Can you please stop being so pretentious? I mean see this jacket you're wearing... It will take probably my entire year's sallary to buy one like that.
Day: Max! Relax! I just meant that It's my parents who are rich. Not me. I just inherited all these privileges but I want to do something on my own.
Max: Yeah. Still doing something on your own is easy for people like you. Let's stop this discussion.
Day: Max, you are getting me all wrong...
Max: Whatever, can you please just tell me what flowers you want to buy?
Day: Well...the same bouquet of orchids that I buy usually. Your grandma prepares it, she would know.
Max: Since she isn't here...Please specify.
Day described how he wanted the bouquet of flowers to be like and was provided the same.
Max: By the way, why do you buy so many flowers? Like for...
Day: For my brother, Night. He used to love orchids...
Max: What do you mean by 'used to'?
Day: He died when I was 10. Although he was about 10 years older than me, he used to be my only friend back then and I lost him in a stupid accident. I miss him... everyday.
Max: I'm sorry. You don't have to tell me all these.
Day: It's okay. I don't mind sharing with you... Anyway, I should be leaving now.
Max: Okay.
Day: See ya, then!
Max: Yeah. Hey, Day! Best of luck for the exams.
Day: Yeah! You too...do well!
Max didn't know much about Day. He assumed that Day had everything he wanted to have and never really knew how one feels when they lose someone they are close to. Like how Max feels everyday without his parents even after all these years. He realised maybe he was a bit too harsh with Max for none of his faults actually.
