Chapter 3: Best Friend's Chat

While Hadrian was passed out, he was talking to Death. She was telling him that he was going to do some work with her grim reapers, and what some of those jobs might be. Plus, some of the changes that he might get. The last thing that she told him was that he had a soulmate.

When Hadrian woke up, he was in Hogwarts' medical wing. Hermione was sitting next to him, with Teddy in her arms. Hadrian groaned and sat up. Hermione quickly noticed and hugged him. She said to him with relief in her voice, "Harry! You're ok! I was so worried!"

"I'm sorry, Mione. Um, how long was I out?"

"You were out for two days!"

"Really!? I'm so sorry! Are you ok?"

"I'm fine. Ronald was arrested..."

"Good. I know that he hurt you."

"Huh!? Why didn't you say anything!?"

"I knew that you loved him... So, I knew that you would've fought on his side. Love blinds us."

"Speaking from experience?"

"Yeah, I am."

"Oh, Harry! I'm sorry!" Hermione yelled sadly.

Hadrian just chuckled and took a deep breath. They sat in silence for a few minutes, while Hadrian fed Teddy his bottle. Once Teddy was finished, Hadrian gave him back to Hermione and she left for Madame Pompey to check Hadrian over. Soon enough, the two best friends were in the Forbidden Forest, walking around in comfortable silence. When suddenly, Hadrian stopped, put up wards, and sat down. Hermione quickly sat down as well. She then asked him confused, "What's wrong, Harry?"

"What I am about to tell you cannot leave this place. Do you promise to not tell anyone?"

"I promise, Harry."

"I'm the Master of Death. I'm also half basilisk and half phoenix."

"What..?"

"Remember, in our second year?"

"Oh, Merlin! When you were bit by the basilisk and then saved by Fawkes!? That made you into a creature of both!?"

"Yes... I found out at Gringotts. I was making amends with them."

"That makes sense. However, how are you the Master of Death?"

"Apparently, I met her requirements. So, the night after the Battle of Hogwarts... She came to me."

"Wait a minute, Death is a female!?" Hermione shouted shocked.

Just then, Death came to her master. She bowed to him and said in a soothing voice, "Master, your training begins in thirty minutes. However, first I must show you how to get to the correct place and time."

"Thank you, Death. I will be right there."

"You're welcome, master." Death replied with a smile, then quickly left.

Then, Hadrian and Hermione talked for about thirty more minutes. They said goodbye to each other, and Hadrian was pulled into the shadows for his training.
