The hallways were deserted and most of the teachers had gone home for the weekend. I followed Gav and found the two men fighting. He started to caw, but I shushed him. I had to watch this. Liam had the upperhand for the longest until he lost focus.
"Ya think I wouldn't recognize ya. My little nightingale. My little LiLi," he crooned as as Liam cringed and backed into a corner. "Ya never was just mine, were ya? Such a little tramp. Remember our nights together? How I made you feel?"
"I-I'm a different p-person now. I'm not and never was yours. Said so the night I left you, remember? Cried too. Said I was the best you ever had. Begged me not leave. 'I need you,' you said. 'Can't live without your voice. You're the only one to give me what I want.' Should've known that was a lie. You never did return any of my calls."
"There was nothing to say once I met Marie. One thing led to another and then all the bottles then Raven. You've been my demon for years Liam. Thought about buying ya, would've if ya hadn't left."
"You knew I was only in it 'til I graduated. I had to live my life and now I am.If I had stayed, would you have let me do what I'm doing now?"
"Yes," he sighed in defeat. "I would've done anything for ya. Moved to Los Angelos or closer to New Orleans, so you could go walk around the Quarter and the Aquarium. It's too late though."
"You're right," the younger man replied as he wiped a stray tear away. "Let's just not dwell on it. Promise me you won't tell Raven any of this."
"I promise. Do you still have Sebastian?"
"Yep. He's doing fine, singing still. I have to go bring her home, but before I do."
John trapped him in the corner and leaned forward. Liam met him halfway and their lips met in a subdued passion. Tears fell and bodies melted together. It was as if the heartache and loneliness of the past five years created a desperation so powerful that they physically needed a release that could express it to the other.
