I stumbled out the door of my friend Amys house, grinning like an idiot. So maybe i had a few drinks... oh well.
"Bye Amy! Have fun with Bryce!" I yelled to her before closing the door. Her blond head peeked around the corner and she giggled.
"You know it." She gave a quick wink before heading back to the party. I closed her front door and immediately regretted not bringing an umbrella with me. Rain poured from the sky, drenching me with ease.
"Bloody hell." I cursed under my breath as i pulled my coat up to cover my head. Slowly i made it to the bottom of my street. I stumbled over a small tree branch and hit the pavement hard. I sat there for a short moment, letting the rain drench me further. My hand was badly scratched up and was bleeding slightly. Finally i lifted my head and started to get up. I was just about to take a step when i heard footsteps. I turned around slowly and squinted my eyes, trying to make out the figure racing towards me. He was tall and dark. I grabbed my things and hurried to get out of his way. Thats when i noticed something.. odd in his hands. It caught the reflection of the street lamps and flashed a deadly silver. I felt immobile. I swore my heart stopped for a moment.
He had a knife.
He was running toward me and had a knife.
I couldnt scream. I couldnt breathe. All i could do was run, and thats what i did. I snapped out of my trace and quickly sobered up. Spinning around on my heels and ran as fast as i could. The sound of pounding footsteps on the pavement echoed through the street. I didnt noticed i was crying until a sob racked through my body. I felt him getting closer. My mind was running circles. I couldnt concentrate on anything but the same 4 words over and over again.
Im going to die.
My legs were growing tired and i was finding it hard to breathe. I fell to my knees sobbing loudly and i braced my self. but all i heard was silence. After a few moment i looked over my shoulder slowly. There was another man. Bigger and taller then my pursuer. He had him pushed against the street and was crouched over him. Laying punch after punch to his still body. Wet curls clung to his face and all i could do was watch. the rain lessened to a drizzle as i stood up, walking towards the curly haired man. I put my hand on his arm and he looked up at me. His green eyes locked with mine for a moment before he stood up. He brushed my hand off his arm and shook his curls.
"Go home." He mumbled deeply and just like that he walked away. Leaving me with the unconscious body of a man who tried to kill me but i took his advice and made my way back home.
