sally jackson was a goddess.
meaning, not literally, because she was a mortal woman with the gift of seeing through the mist, but to percy and many other demigods, she was a goddess, reincarnation of jesus, and a parent that actually cares about demigods and their well-being. another reason was that she wasn't scared to stand up for her kids and jackson foster family was expanding rather quickly after the war with kronos.
she also probably had a blessing from aphrodite or was her distant (or not so distant) relative, since she was unbelievably beautiful. she may not have been young anymore, as the gray streaks in her gorgeous long brown hair showed. still, a smile as warm as summer and sparkling blue eyes that change color in the light, gave the impression that she seemed to have stopped in time and was still in her twenties. she smelled of sweets and home and percy was not surprised that people just wanted to be in her presence. just by smiling, she made people's day better. her wonderful personality and the fact that she was never mean to anyone only enhanced this.
