You have dialled emergency triple-zero. Your call is being connected.
CONTROL CENTRE OFFICER: You've dialled triple-zero, do you need a police officer, fire department or an ambulance?
CALLER: (mumbles) Uhh.
CONTROL CENTRE OFFICER: Is everything okay?
CALLER: I- Uh.
CONTROL CENTRE OFFICER: Are you unable to speak? Do not reply to this question if you cannot speak.
CALLER: No, I can speak.
CONTROL CENTRE OFFICER: If you're in any kind of danger, let us know. We'll send help.
CALLER: I don't know if I should be calling you.
CONTROL CENTRE OFFICER: Honey, you're in a safe environment. Your identity will be kept completely confidential.
CALLER: So, I'm anonymous?
CONTROL CENTRE OFFICER: Well, I suppose so!
CALLER: You can't trace this call back to my person, can you?
CONTROL CENTRE OFFICER: Uh- We can, yes. But only if you're in danger.
CALLER: Well, I- uh.
CONTROL CENTRE OFFICER: I don't mean to be rude sweetheart, but you're holding up the line. If you're seeking help, tell me now.
CALLER: Connect me to the police.
CONTROL CENTRE OFFICER: Can you tell me your location? We'll send the police your way.
CALLER: No, no. Connect me on the phone to a police officer.
CONTROL CENTRE OFFICER: So, you want to talk to a police officer?
CALLER: Yes, now, please.
CONTROL CENTRE OFFICER: (sigh) Okay, anyone in particular?
CALLER: A detective, Lee White.
CONTROL CENTRE OFFICER: Alright honey, wait a minute and you'll be connected.
CALLER: Thank you. Have a good night.
CONTROL CENTRE OFFICER: You too.
(call ended)
DETECTIVE: Hello? Is there anything I can help you with?
CALLER: I've done something bad.
DETECTIVE: I can reconnect you back to triple-zero. Just hold on a sec-
CALLER: That won't be necessary.
DETECTIVE. Oh, um. (mumbling)
CALLER: Please. I know it's a weird request but I want to talk to you.
DETECTIVE: Uh- Okay sweetie. What seems to be the problem?
CALLER: I've hurt someone. Badly.
DETECTIVE: Who did you hurt, honey?
CALLER: My friend.
DETECTIVE: How badly are they hurt? I can send an ambulance to your location.
CALLER: No, no ambulance.
DETECTIVE: I'm afraid that if someone's injured, I have to send them help.
CALLER: I said no.
DETECTIVE: (sigh) I- uh.
CALLER: I've hurt someone you love.
DETECTIVE: I- I'm sorry I didn't quite catch that. Can you repeat that?
CALLER: I've hurt your daughter.
DETECTIVE: Listen, kid, this isn't funny. Hang up or I'm sending the police to your location.
CALLER: Don't you want to know what I did to her?
DETECTIVE: You're not funny. I'm sending police officers to where your phone is located.
CALLER: I was gentle at first. Then she just wouldn't stop screaming. I got so fed up with it. (chuckles)
DETECTIVE: (gulp)
CALLER: I shoved a wet cloth into her mouth. Just to shut her up and make the squealing stop.
CALLER: Then I skinned her alive. It's much easier than you may think. She's a fighter thought.
DETECTIVE: (heavy breathing)
(sounds of movement)
CALLER: She scratched my arms, all over. She would've had my DNA under her fingernails. And we can't have her death tracing back to me, can we?
CALLER: I pulled her fingernails right off. Then chopped each finger off. They taste delicious with a mean salad.
DETECTIVE: (heavy breathing) S- Seriously, this isn't funny kid. If you hang up now, I'll forget about it and send the police back to the station.
CALLER: (laughs)
(call ended)
