Chapter Four: The Library

"Hey Mars, wanna watch a movie?" Plum laid down on their bed, grabbing the remote to their tv. "O-Oh, I wanted to go down to the library. I-I usually go down there to read or to just relax." Mars smiled. "Oh, we can go there then. I usually never had time to read a whole lot." Plum got up and put their cardigan back on. Mars got up too, even though he was wearing a nice sweater and some decent black pants, he seemed a bit embarrassed. "You alright Mars?" Plum looked at him. "M-Mhm..." Mars nodded, he kinda thought of this as a date and became extreamly nervous again. "F-Follow me, please..." Mars began to walk into the usually grand hallway, and Plum followed. Plum looked shorter than usual because of Mars's huge size. Mars was a pretty big skeleton, he seemed to be the tallest out of all of them. Plum didn't seem to mind though. "P-Plum..." Mars looked at Plum. "Yeah?" They looked up at him. "C-Can... Can we maybe hold... H-Hands?" Mars rubbed the back of his neck a little. "Oh, sure." Plum giggled a little at the small offer and didn't think much of it. Dispite Plum being from Underlust, they don't always think much of little things like holding hands.

The two held hands and began to make their way to the libary. Mars opened the doors of the huge room and Plum's eyes widened at the amazing sight. "Wow... That's... A shit ton of books.." Plum's eyes looked around the room and they walk inside. Piles apoun piles of books on every shelf, the height to the bookcases seemed at least endless. "Heh, it is... I usually spend my time in here, no one really comes in here." Mars smiled, entering and making a bee line to a specific table. Plum looked around and quickly followed the tall skeleton. Mars sat down and opened a book and began reading. Plum looked at it and back at Mars, "What cha' reading?" They asked, peaking over Mars's shoulder. "Stuff about the soul..." Mars spoke softly. Plum read along, soon sneaking under Mars's arm and sitting on his lap, reading along. He blushed a little. "You done reading this page yet?" Plum looked at Mars. "Mhm-" He flipped the page and the two continued reading together.

The two read together for a little while more. Mars rested his head on Plum's, blinking tiredly and yawning. His big brute look was softened by his cute little yawn. Plum yawned and face planted into the book, must be tired. Mars was startled for a moment, jolting up and looking at Plum's sleeping body make small little snores. He chuckled and picked them up. "C'mon, let's get you to bed..." Mars gently carried Plum to their room. He placed Plum down on the bed and tucked them in carefully. Mars left quietly, turning off the light before leaving entirely.
