Ch. 12 The Volturi

Far away in an ancient Kingdom called Volterra in Tuscany, Italy, resides a powerful Vampire Coven called the Volturi. Three brothers, not related by blood but brothers, nonetheless ruled the Volturi. And they are the three Vampiric kings: Aro, Marcus, and Caius.

Aro is the eldest of the trio, born in the same era as the Hogwarts Founders, alongside his biological siblings, his older brother Sanguini, and their younger sister Didyme.

Before they were Vampires, Didyme, Aro, and Sanguini were Witch and Wizards, respectively. The three siblings attended Hogwarts growing up. Sanguini and Aro were under the tutelage of their Maternal Uncle, Salazar Slytherin. Meanwhile, Helga Hufflepuff took Didyme under her wing.

The three siblings became respectable and influential Witch and Wizards growing up. However, Aro and Sanguini mess with the wrong Witches because the brothers broke their hearts. These Witches cursed the brothers with a spell that turned the two into Vampires. What the Witches didn't expect was creating two different breeds of Vampires.

Whoever Aro turned, these Vampires will have Magical Abilities such as being able to read minds, read people's thoughts through touch, look into the future, etc. Their skin would also sparkle when the sun shimmered on them. Meanwhile, whoever Sanguini turned, their skin would get burned by the sun. They could turn into bats, are allergic to garlic, can't see themselves in the mirror, and have to sleep in a coffin.

When their youngest sister turned eighteen, their fears became real when a Healer told them that Didyme got diagnosed with the Dragon Pox, a deadly magical disease. Not wanting their beloved sister to suffer, the two brothers agreed that she should become a Vampire like them.

Aro turned Didyme into a Vampire because Sanguini didn't want his younger sister to suffer the same fate as him. Sanguini felt relieved that Didyme had a Magical ability when she became a Vampire. He was amused that his younger sister could make people around her happy because he knew that Didyme had always been a joyful individual.

Months became centuries. The two brothers went their separate ways, with Didyme staying close to Aro because her older brother's best friend, Marcus, turned out to be her Soul Mate. Even though the siblings rarely see each other, they sometimes meet at night for Sanguini's sake to see how he is doing.

When Aro's beloved Principessa, Renesmee Cullen, told him she was a Witch and would attend Hogwarts in the Fall. He felt excited that someone of his kind was born with Pure Magic. He knew then and there that he must confront Sanguini. He needed the current Headmaster of Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore, to understand how precious his future student is to the Vampire Royal Coven.

" Aro. What did Renesmee need?" Caius asked when he saw Aro approach him and Marcus.

Aro's Ruby-red eyes gleamed, and he widely smiled. " Our beloved Principessa is a Witch." He confessed, causing Caius and Marcus to look at one another in surprise.

" Didyme would be please," Marcus speaks.

" Indeed. I plan to meet up with Sanguini. He is currently residing in Scotland, which is near to a specific place I want to go. Would you like to come with us, Marcus, since I plan to have Didyme come with me so we can see our brother?" Aro asked.

Caius looks at Marcus and Aro. " Do not fret about the Kingdom. I will watch over the Coven with Suplicia and Athenodora. The guards will also make sure there is no threat." He reassured.

Aro nodded. He feels gratitude since he trusts Caius, Athenodora, and his mate, Suplicia, to watch over the Volturi when he, Marcus, and Didyme are away.

" When do you plan on leaving?" Marcus asked.

" Today. We will go to the Slytherin Manor, where Sanguini is resting. You know, Uncle Dearest named us, his only nephews, the Heads of the Slytherin Family because we are immortal Vampires, after all. He didn't trust his children because he knew they would kill each other for ownership." Aro bluntly responded.

Caius smirked. He respects Salazar Slytherin's decision to have two immortal Vampires watch over his properties. The older Wizard must have known that his descendants would eventually die out either by inbreeding or killing each other.

" Your Uncle was wise to have you and your brother be the ones to look after his properties and treasures," Caius speaks.

" Uncle Dearest was adamant that no Original Descendants of his takes the titles and such from my brother and me. And the Goblins are aware of that since Gringotts made sure to let his descendants know not to give away Uncle Salazar's Rings and titles." Aro responded.

" I shall go to Didyme and let her know the arrangements." Marcus excused himself and left the throne room with four guards following him.

Caius and Aro watched Marcus leave. " Who do you plan to take with you? I cannot let two Kings and a Queen go to a different country unprotected." Caius asked while looking at Aro.

" Sanguini and I have experimented that our breeds of Vampires are unaffected by mere spells and curses. But I must be careful because someone can rip my body apart and burn me to death." Aro rubbed his chin. " Garlic will make Sanguini sick and weak. And he can still get killed if he were to be in the sunlight for too long." He frowned.

" They are only mere Wizards and Witches. So, they don't have inhuman strength or speed like us. They must be close to you to rip your body apart and burn you to death." Caius reassured. " As for Sanguini, we can have a guard protect him by ensuring there is no Garlic in sight and give him a cloak to protect him from the sunlight." He softly smiled.

" I can have Felix protect Sanguini. My brother doesn't like to dirty himself. But he wouldn't mind dirtying his hands if it means protecting someone he cares fondly of." Aro nodded.

" Then I suggest taking Felix and the Terror twins with you. Demetri could meet up with you guys after dropping the gift to Renesmee." Caius turned his gaze to the guards and saw Felix, Jane, and Alec step forward.

" That settles it. Felix, Jane, and Alec. You three will accompany Didyme, Marcus, and me to Scotland to retrieve my brother. Then we will go to Hogwarts to confront the Headmaster so that he would be aware not to mess with the Volturi if he ever thinks about harming our Principessa." Aro's ruby-red eyes gleamed.

Felix, Jane, and Alec bowed and excused themselves to get things ready for their trip. Aro watched the guards leave, and he turned his gaze to Caius and gently touched pats his back.

" I will see you, Athenodora, and Suplicia later. Call us in case of emergencies." Aro firmly speaks, leaving the throne room to meet up with Marcus and Didyme.
