The smashing of my bedroom door whipping open caused my frail thirteen year old body to jump up from its dream-filled sleep. Pulling my covers closer to body wishing they could make me disappear into thin air sooner or later. As I adjusted my eyes to the dim lighting I see my mother pushing my antique dresser over my chipped flower painted door. In the distance I can hear screams of servants and maids calling out my fathers name in pain. My eyes are glued to my mother's blood smeared face and natted hair. She pressed her back to the dresser and slid down to hold her head between her knees.

"Mama..? What's happening? Why is there blood on your face?" my groggy high pitched voice whispered. She snapped her head up to look at me and narrowed her eyes. Rising to her feet she walked slowly towards me. I brought the covers closer to my face and pressed my back up against my headboard. As she walked closer and closer to my bed her smiled turned from the once sweet smile I had come to love to a sickly twisted grin. I could feel my heart begin to beat faster and faster as she got closer to the edge of the bed.

I could hear her feet creak against the floor boards as she walked slowly until she reached the side of my mattress. Her laugh started off slow and soft but ended up getting louder and more cynical as the time pasted. Her hand reached out and pulled my hair dragging me from my what I thought was safe covers so that I was staring straight into her piercing blue eyes.

"You... this is all happening because of you!" If I never had you this curse wouldn't have happened! You are useless. You monster!" she screamed into my face and threw my across the room. My tiny body hit the wall and a blood chilling crack rang throughout the room. My sobs got louder and louder the longer my mother kicked me not thinking twice even though she heard my pleas to stop. Her foot connected with my stomach several times and blood started to leak from my nose. I lifted my tear stained face and spoke to her as my voice cracked.

"Mama... I don't get.. it why are you hurting me. Where's Papa?" My heart broken voice questioned her. She stepped away from me when the door was kicked open. A beautiful women wearing a deep red cloak emerged from the door with the limp body of my father being dragged behind her. Her heels clicked against the floor while her cape ran behind her. The hair upon her head was as black as night and rich with curls. She stood in the center of my room and dropped my father's body that was followed by a loud thud. His face was deep blue while the rest of his body was white like a sheet of paper. My mouth was open but no sound came out as I took in the sight of my dead father. The women turned around and her violet eyes locked with mine. Her once emotionless face lifted into a small smile. Just as fast as the smile came it went once her eyes scanned over my mother trying to sneak out the door.

"Oh Stella... don't leave just yet deary. I have a game we can play." the mystery's women voice sang. Before I knew it my mother's body was being held five feet into the air looking down at the women. The sound of choking and gurgling clouded my ears. My tiny hands tried cut out the noises but it was no use.

"Such a shame it had to come to this. I thought you were wiser then to blame a poor child for your mistake. You and Richard should of known then to have a child knowing that this would happen." Her voice was soft like silk and twisted in its own way. The sound of my mothers choking stopped as she was thrown against the wall on the other side of the room.

"I'm sorry, please Meredith! It's not my fault! I never meant to do what I did! Just take the heathen and spare me!" she cried out as blood poured from her forehead. The lady I guessed name was Meredith walked across the room and squatted down next to my hurt mother. You could hear her pleading voice followed by sobs as Meredith got closer and closer.

"Silence! You are weak. You brought this upon yourself. All you people are the same. Looking for greed and power. You shall pay the price for your crimes instead of pleading like the imbecile you are." She shoved her hand into my mothers chest and pulled out a bleeding red organ. I wanted this all to be a dream and I would wake up with my family that didn't hate me and a happy life.

My chin was lifted and I looked into the swirling amethyst eyes. She put her hand into her cloak and pulled out a white handkerchief. She wiped my nose and any other blood on my face as I stared at her wide eyed. This women just killed both of my parents and is now helping me? Tears stung my eyes and rolled down my cheeks as she cleaned my face.

"My poor child. So innocent, yet tainted with bad blood. You must be confused and traumatized at the moment. I do apologize for all of this, but I can make it up to you. I'll let you live, let you keep the castle and servants but it comes with a price. You must not let anyone in who isn't true of heart, you must be kept hidden from the outside world because there are cruel people out there. I will make sure to protect you from anyone entering this property who wishes to eliminate you. Everyone in this house will be cursed including you.You will turn into your worst nightmare, a monster that consumes your whole being like your appearance, mental condition and thoughts. You also must find love but not any type of love. True love that isn't about money, social status and looks. I will give you till your twenty fifth birthday to find the one. If you do not find them you will be forced into a trance that makes you go to the top of your highest castle tower and jump ending your life. Take this hourglass, once the last grain of sand drops so does your control over your own body. Good luck my little beast." She spoke as she stood up tightened her cloak and flattened her dress then headed out the window leaving me exhausted, confused and alone.
