Levi x Petra - How It Should Have Ended

Chapter 4 - I Will!

(Mikasa's POV)

I wipe my hands down on the trousers of my uniform making it turn red, after saving those two idiots from the Titans. I thought we were all history then, they led the Titans right to us. I look back having one last glance at the trail of corpses after throwing them at the Titans. I know it saved us, but that damn bastard, families within the wall are expecting their loved ones to return home, and over half of them won't even get to see their bodies to say goodbye.

"Oh Eren"

I look down at his face beaming in the sunlight, even with the bandage round his head he's still beautiful. I think back to what that pipsqueak said earlier about me loving him, is it really that obvious? I wonder if Eren knows? However I am still thankful about him saving my life earlier, when he jumped onto the Titan's hand to stop it from striking me, he looked like he was in a bit of pain...

I catch him in the corner of my eye staring at Petra laying helplessly next to Eren. I redo her bandage the medical team put round her to prevent her from losing even more blood.

I look back at Levi still staring at her "bless her, a true soldier she is". He looked at me for a while then looked down at his leg. I try not to say anything else and concentrate back on Eren.

- later on entering the gate -

(Levi's POV)

It was a bad turnout this year, I look out at both corners of my eyes. So many gloomy faces asking question about our expedition. A man suddenly runs up to me shouting 'Captain Levi'. I try to ignore but couldn't help but listen.

"My daughter is in your squad, I'm Petra's father"

P-Petra, why is her father coming to talk to me. Now I'm intrigued.

"I have something to tell you before she see's me. She sent me a letter, you see, saying her skills were recognised and she was to work under you. And in fact she intended to devote herself to you".

I hope this stops soon, I can't stand him talking about Petra like this under the condition she is in now.

"Well, I guess she's too happy about it all to consider how I feel! But you see as her father I think it's still too early for her to get married".

W-what am I hearing... marriage. She really loves me that much? I'm in to much shock to reply back, so I just keep walking ahead.

- at the hospital -

(Levi's POV)

It's dark, everyone's tired, and it's very late. But I'm too worried about Petra to go to sleep, I need to visit her to make sure she's alright. After all I am worried about her, and I love her...

(Petra's POV)

The doctors ended up having to amputate my leg and gave me a prosthetic one. Why is the world so cruel. I turn round and hug my other pillow. "Why?" I began to fill up with more tears.

I suddenly heard a voice coming from the door "Why what?"

"Captain" I got so excited just to see him here with me. "How's your leg?". He looked at me looking puzzled but also a bit guilty. I don't think he wanted me to know about it. "Oh Mikasa told me earlier when she came to visit". He then moved onto something else, not replying to my question.

"I should be asking how your leg it" he glanced at me waiting for an answer. I really didn't want to tell him about my operation, but I want him to love me for me, so I had no choice. I turned round completely and showed him my prosthetic leg.

"The doctor said I can start training again in a couple of months and return to the Survey Corps". He didn't look to happy about that, I knew it... he was to ashamed and didn't want to be seen with a one legged girl.

He then gave a half smile "But I thought we were going somewhere together". I smiled with relief, he does still love me and was actually considering about running away with me.

He showed me a letter folded up. Oh no the letter I sent to my father, how did he get it? I was so embarrassed. My face fully turned red.

(Levi's POV)

She looked so embarrassed, but still so beautiful with her hair glistening under the moonlight. I cupped her face in my hand and said "well are you going to ask me or not?". She looked up at me for a while as her red cheeks went down to a pale pink.

She let out a quiet giggle "Your the Captain, your meant to ask me".

I smiled at her, I haven't smiled for years, I think the last time I smiled was the day before Isabel and Farlan died. Knowing that she would say that, I got down on one knee, grabbed her hand with one hand as she stood up from her hospital bed, and with the other bought out a small silver ring with a amber coloured stone inside. I kept this ring with me in a small box for years, I picked it up when me, Isabel and Farlan knocked the boxes over from those men underground. It was worth a lot so I kept it.

"Will you do me the honor Petra Ral, of being my wife".

She replied instantly with no hesitation "YES! I will".

I stood up and gave her the biggest hug I could give. Just from today I have changed a lot, I'm actually smiling as well (well only a bit, and only in front of Petra). The moonlight shone down on us as 5 white doves flew past the window. It was a moment I never wanted to forget, I picked her up and gave her a kiss, we are soon to be husband and wife.

Author: If you are enjoying this, don't worry because Chapter 5 is coming soon, I know I said I was only going to do the episodes when Levi said his goodbyes (in his own way) to Petra but how I thought it should have ended, but I might take it a bit further like Mikasa shows her true feelings for Eren, and Marco mysteriously returns (don't know how I'm going to do it yet but will find a way 😁) etc. Also incase you guys didn't guess, the 5 doves represent Isabel, Farlan, Günther, Eld, and Oluo.
