"What are you doing?"

Jungkook asked in his sleepy yet rigid voice. Dami never noticed when Jungkook's eyes opened only halfway through.

"Uh—" She pulled away her hand free from his hold. "I—You—" The stuttering continued for a couple of seconds while Jungkook was waiting patiently.

"There was a fly." She finally managed to give an unconvincing excuse, adding an awkward laughter afterwards.

"Not so smooth, Kim Dami." Jungkook was not ready to let it go either. Dami's face fell within a moment. The unsuccessful effort to fool Jungkook with not so believable lie made her disappointed at herself.

But she composed herself soon enough to lie once again, wishing he would be deceived this time. "Look, the window is open! That's how the fly must have gotten in!"

Jungkook clicked his tongue. His gaze was straight into her eyes. He didn't buy it? Dami still had wishful thinking. He inched closer. His lip piercing actually made him look scarier than usual.

Or is he just grumpy because he woke up because of me?

"Don't do it ever again." The only thing colder about him than his voice, were his eyes. Dami felt like she did not know this man in front of her. He can't be the same Jungkook.

"Huh?" That was all she could say.

"Don't touch my hair like that again," Jungkook said it, explaining more in details this time. It's already hard seeing you. I don't wanna fall weak again. Jungkook knew the second they had moments like that, it would have been over. He did not want that.

Jungkook got up and headed towards his room on the most left of the large hallway. "Excuse me?" Dami stood up as well. She was not the person who would  just listen to whatever he said.

Jungkook closed his eyes. Massaging his temples with his fingers, he turned around. The female stepped towards him. "Who gave you the right to act so mean with me?" She was straight forward with her question, blurting out exactly what on her mind was.

A scoff left his lips as he spoke, "I have the right to decide who can touch me and who can't." Dami perfectly replicated his scoff. "I told you there was a fly on your forehead, geez."

"You are still sticking to that?"

"You are such a freak."

Jungkook was nonchalant to her reactions. He was quite used to those when he dated her back then. Even though she was rebuking him, he would be lying if he said that he did not miss it.

"Oh my goodness!" Dami's eyes widened and her voice was high as well.

Jungkook had a minor anxiety attack worrying over what he should do if Dami realised that he still had feelings for her. "You are so mad just because your sleep got interrupted because of me."

"What?" He was totally done. Not that he wanted to get caught but the fact Dami was a dimwit was getting more obvious. How did she become a doctor?

Dami crossed her arms over her chest. "Okay." Jungkook finally opened his eyes fully to take a good look at her tired face with the strands of her bed hair constantly falling over her eyes that she was trying her best to tuck behind her ear.

"I will forgive you since you are grumpy due to lack of sleep. I am going to sleep now as well. You might want to close that window to prevent anymore flies coming in." Dami started to walk towards her room only to get halted by what Jungkook said next while rolling his eyes.

"You are so dumb."

"Okay, that's it, Jeon Jungkook." Dami took his Samsung latest edition cellphone which was kept on the tea table and ran towards the sea in front of the beach house like her life depended on it.

"Kim Dami!" Jungkook yelled and ran after her. He caught Dami by her waist and spun her around so that she was facing him.

"I am faster than you, you know?"

Dami looked at Jungkook. His face was inches away from her. They were dangerously close with the sea beside them and the night so dark.

None of them moved away. Dami blinked. They both were intoxicated in each others' eyes. Their mind got blocked as they could hear only their heartbeats alongside the waves.

To Jungkook, Dami was like the wave who was gone after touching him once. But now that he held her in his arms, all of his bitter feelings had left. He just did not want to let go off of her this time.

The sky was beautiful with the starlight being so bright but none of them bothered to look.

Jungkook's gaze shifted to her lips. As wrong as it seemed, he leaned in even before he knew it. Just then, Dami pulled away and threw Jungkook's phone into the water.

"Serves you right, sucker." With that, Dami went inside the house leaving Jungkook behind being dumbfounded.

So much for not letting that happen again.
