The next morning came by quickly. Valentina did her morning routine, then wore skinny jeans and a plain purple shirt that tucked into her jeans. Valentina was putting some feminine products into her purse when she heard a moan coming from her brothers room. "
Ew, gross." She murmured to herself. Valentina went out of her room, and grabbed her keys.

Before she went out, she yelled to her brother. "NEXT TIME DON'T BE SO LOUD!" Valentina didn't want to miss his reaction.

"GET THE HELL OUT OF MY APARTMENT!"

She giggled to herself and left. Her weekday job was working at a small cafe out of the city, in a small town square. She walked up to the cafe, jingling her keys to open the doors. When she finally got it, Valentina opened the door, and turned the sign to open. She went to the back and put on a white apron and tied her long, black hair into ponytail.

Just then, the bells jingled signaling someone had entered. She poked her head out of the back door, checking to see who it was.

"Thank god you opened up the store. Sorry, I was running a bit late." Valentina's boss, Mia said.

"No worries! I already pre-heated our best selling muffins. In no time I'll be needing to make another batch." She smiled at her boss.

"Don't worry about that Valentina. I'll take care of the goods. Sam's out sick so I need you to be the cashier for today." Mia set her stuff down before starting on a coffee.

"Would you like some?" She asked, signaling towards the coffee maker.

"No thank you." Valentina said before heading to the register.

Two hours passed by. Many of the chairs were filled up by customers. Valentina was humming while sorting out cookies on a tray.

The bells jingled, and a customer walked in. "Hello! What can I-" Valentina stopped mid sentence and stared at the man in front of her, jaw dropped. She could recognize that tattoo from anywhere. A sudden rush of paroxysm hit her. The man looked equally shocked, his lips parted. "What can I get you?" She finished her sentence that she started. He clenched his jaw before replying. "Coffee, black."

That voice always got Valentina. "S-sure. Yes of course. May I get a name?" Valentina asked.

"No you may not." He replied coldly before walking off to sit at a table. Valentina opened her mouth in shock, then quickly pressed her lips together, trying to keep her anger hidden deep down. Valentina walked to the back and took a cup.

"Valentina? I'm doing the orders, remember?" Mia put her hands on her hips.

"Please let me do this one." She put the cup in the coffee maker, pressing the button. Valentina thought about putting salt in his coffee, but pushed that thought deep down. She placed the lid on the cup, then walked out of the back. Valentina placed the cup on his table.

"Do you take cash?" He asked roughly.

"Yes we do." She swallowed her spit so she didn't say anything bad. He placed a twenty dollar bill, then walked out of the cafe.

Valentina stared at the bill, then heard someone clear their throat.

"Can I have a those freshly baked cookies, and a iced mocha?" Valentina quickly recognized the voice, and signed in relief.

"Carmella! Thank goodness your here." Carmella grinned. Mia made the mocha and gave it to Valentina.

"Here." She gave the iced mocha and a cookie to Carmella. "Can I go on break?" Valentina asked Mia. Her boss nodded in agreement.

"You would not believe my day." Valentina groaned sitting in a chair.

"What happened this time?" Carmella sat down in front of her.  "That guy who, fucked me yesterday, he was just here and he asked for coffee. But he was so rude. When I asked for a name for the order, he refused to give it to me. As if I'm gonna find him. And that wasn't even the worst part. He even payed cash, thinking if he used card I'll track down his details! Gosh, he's such a dickhead." Valentina rubbed her eyes, then her temples.

"See? It's not fate. You shouldn't be with a guy like that. Who's rude. It's probably just a coincidence that he somehow stumbled into the cafe you work at."

Valentina scoffed. "You're right. I shouldn't waste my time on lowlife men like him."

Carmella hummed. Valentina pressed her lips together, before talking again. "My brother is having a party tonight in our apartment. Do you want to come? I promise this time I'll bring Black Label. Not Jack Daniel."

Carmella smiled in delight. "Good! And make sure to keep the whole bottle only for me." She winked, surprising a laugh out of Valentina.
