Farah's little Bloom

Telling Saul

Farah's pov

The day started out mostly normal for Farah. She ate breakfast with Saul before he left early to fix his sword before combat training in an hour. She put her plate in the sink but stopped for a moment when she felt dizzy. She has been feeling dizzy and nauseous for the last week and she had a good feeling she knew why.

She took an object off the counter from behind the tea kettle, she hid it there knowing Saul would not look there since he did not drink tea often. Sitting with her back against the stove she took a moment to let herself rest and looked at the pregnancy test in her hands. With all of the symptoms she had been having this week she knew what the test result was most likely going to be.

Staring at the two lines on the test it suddenly became real. After trying for two years Saul and her are finally going to have a child. Farah put the test down and went to take a shower. When she stepped out of the shower she walked over to the full length mirror and looked at her reflection. Looking for any sign of change she noticed the slight swell of her stomach. placing her hand on her stomach she gently ran her thumb up and down where her child was growing.

Farah: "Little one even though I have not known you for long you are already loved very much. Your father is going to love you just as much as I do when I tell him about you. Now we just have to go see your uncle Ben so he can see how well you are doing. Hopefully he has time to do it before training starts."

As if her unborn baby was trying to respond Farah felt fluttering in her stomach. She smiled as she put on her combat uniform, even though she will not participate in the training exercise Rosalind is expecting everyone to be in uniform. The baby fluttered again after putting the uniform on.

"Don't worry baby girl (she has a feeling it's a girl.) I will not be doing combat training until after you are born. I will not put you at risk. You are your dad and I's little miracle. Now let's go see Ben and tell your father the news."

As she quickly made her way to the training field she started to get dizzy again. Thankfully Ben who was walking to greet her caught her before she hit the ground. He carried her into the weapon tent and laid her down on the bench

<p>Ben: "Farah are you alright what happened?"

Farah smiled up at her friend and put her hand on her stomach.

Ben's eyes widen with realization. "Is it true Farah are you pregnant?"

Farah: "Yes it's true i'm pregnant and you're going to be an uncle. I came to see if you had time to do an ultrasound to see how far along I am and to tell Saul the news."

Ben: "Well we still have half an hour before training starts at 8:00 so I can do the scan now. Do you want saul here for it?"

Farah: "Yes but don't tell him what the scan is for please."

Ben nodded at her request and left the tent to go get Saul. He returned with a worried looking Saul.

Saul: "Sweetheart are you alright? Ben said you fainted." He kneeled in front of her and gently took her hand in his.

Farah smiled at her husband of four years and gave his hand a small squeeze. "I'm fine dear but I have a surprise to show you. Close your eyes please. Ben can you start the scan please?"

Saul closed his eyes while Ben started the spell.

Farah: "Saul you can open your eyes now there is someone I want you to meet."

He opened his eyes and saw an image of a baby projected in front of him. "Is that what I think it is?"

Farah: "Yes dear we are finally going to be parents." She placed a kiss on his lips and turned back to the image.
